Community Comments / Comentarios de la Comunidad James Werbel (KUNM) introduced himself and requested assistance identifying a person who has been held in ICE custody for an interview. Work Session / Sesión de Trabajo 6(a) Guidance for City Staff Regarding Interactions with ICE / 6(a) Guía para Empleados Municipales sobre Interacciones con ICE Presenter/Presentadora: Ruby Crews, Assistant City Attorney / Abogada Adjunta de la Ciudad Ms. Crews provided a high-level overview of guidance for City employees, including: La Sra. Las autoridades federales pueden acceder a áreas abiertas al público. • For non-public or secured areas (marked private or locked), entry generally requires a judicial warrant (court-issued). Procedural Note / Nota de Procedimiento: During this item, members of the public began speaking during the presentation and sharing viewpoints. The Staff Liaison called a point of order and clarified that the Committee meeting is a public meeting/public hearing format, with public input taken during the public comment period. A Committee member suggested exploring ways to increase community interaction, and the Staff Liaison noted that interactive discussion can be scheduled through properly noticed subcommittee meetings. Matters from the Chair / Asuntos del Presidente Chair update on meeting with Mayor Garcia: Santa Fe Police Department is not participating with ICE, and SFPD work is focused on local responsibilities. Matters from the Committee / Asuntos del Comité The Committee discussed strengthening its relationship with SFPD, noting the Committee has historically maintained a police ally/liaison connection.
