Regular Meeting of the Mayor's Youth Advisory Board September 11, 2025 at 6:00 PM Virtual Meeting MINUTES 1. Call to Order The Regular Meeting of the Governing Body was called to order by Elise Gutierrez at 6:03 PM, on Monday June 9, 2025, virtually on Zoom 2. Roll Call Elise Gutierrez - Present Jack Elling -Present Luz Ochoa-Present Landen Kessler-Absent 3. Approval of Agenda a A motion was made by Luz Ochoa and seconded by Jack Elling to accept the agenda as submitted. 4. Approval of Minutes a Approval of Minutes tabled: Minutes from June, August and this meeting will be approved at the next regular meeting. 5. Presentations a MYAB Members interviewed potential member Nadia Yazdani Declerk 6. Old Business No old business 7. Matters from the Chair Chair Elise Gutierrez requested to appoint a Co-Chair to fill in during times she is not present. Jack Elling volunteered to serve as Co-Chair. Vote in favor to appoint Jack Elling to serve a Co-Chair Motion: Luz Ochoa Second: Elise Gutierrez Motion Passes 8. Sub-Committee Work Sessions a Teen Center Manager Dave Caldwell provided a report on Teen Steering Committee. He was waiting to have this meeting before scheduling the Steering subcommittee. Jack Elling and Landen Kessler will chair this committee. b. Discussion was had for planning for the Teen Halloween event planned for October 30. Nadia Yazdani will reach out to Prep, Luz Ochoa will reach out to ATC, Jack will reach out to Santa Fe High and Maria Sanchez-Tucker will reach out to Capital to see if any of their groups are willing to volunteer for the event. c. Mental Health Subcommittee- Dave Caldwell will work with Luz Ochoa to update her on the work on Mental Health Grant received by the Teen Center and then she can begin working on forming the Mental Health Subcommittee. d. Symposium Planning We will begin a planning doc and draft flyer for the Symposium will create. Committee wll identify areas that we want to cover during the symposium. We will discuss with the SFPS how we can get students to participate on school time. The event will be held at the Teen Center and Dave Caldwell will provide vans for Transportation. 9. New Business a. Meeting Day Time and Location. We will set October meeting dates at the next meeting. A motion was made to schedule The Next meeting for September 25 at the Climbing Center in-person at 5:30 p.m. Motion: Elise Gutierrez Second: Jack Elling Motion Passes 10. Matters from Staff a Maria Sanchez-Tucker asked the members if they are willing to participate in the City Toss No Mas clean up on September 20. MYAB Members will participate. b Discussed 2025 Youth Symposium (Summit) Tentative Month November or December C. Dave Caldwell updated the group that the Teen Center will soon be cooking meals out of their kitchen at the Teen Center.  11. Matters from the committee No Matters from the Committee 12.
