CALL TO ORDER Chair Kiefer called the meeting to order at 3:32PM. 2. ROLL CALL Member Sayers joined the meeting at 3:40PM. Member Nathanson left the meeting at 4:37PM. Present 7 - Chair Kristin Kiefer, Vice Chair Melanie Jones-Carter, Committee Member Nathan Azhderian, Committee Member Anne Baumgartner, Committee Member Jeff Nathanson, Committee Member Lisa Puentes, and Committee Member Bob Sayers 3. PUBLIC COMMENTS None. 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 4.1 Approval of Minutes: January 10, 2022, Special Meeting A motion was made by Committee Member Baumgartner, seconded by Vice Chair Jones-Carter to approved the Art in Public Places Committee item as submitted. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 4 - Chair Kiefer, Vice Chair Jones-Carter, Committee Member Azhderian and Committee Member Baumgartner Absent: 1 - Committee Member Sayers Abstain: 2 - Committee Member Nathanson and Committee Member Puentes 4.2 Approval of Minutes: April 4, 2022, Meeting A motion was made by Committee Member Puentes, seconded by Committee Member Nathanson that this Art in Public Places Committee item be approved as submitted. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 5 - Chair Kiefer, Vice Chair Jones-Carter, Committee Member Baumgartner, Committee Member Nathanson and Committee Member Puentes Absent: 1 - Committee Member Sayers City of Santa Rosa Meeting Minutes Page 2 of 3 Art in Public Places Committee Meeting Minutes - Final May 2, 2022 Abstain: 1 - Committee Member Azhderian 5. SCHEDULED ITEMS 5.1 Progress Report on Strategic Plan Implementation and Annual Work Plan Discussion Staff will share a progress report on Strategic Plan Implementation and open the first in a series of discussions about the Annual Work Plan process. Recommended Action: Information and discussion Public Comment: None Item was received and filed. 5.2 Review Proposed Gift Staff will present information on a proposed gift of public art to the City of Santa Rosa. Artist Adrian Litman has offered a sculpture “Tame the Fire” to the Fire Department for placement in front of Fire Station 2 on Stony Point Road. The Fire Department has approved this location. Recommended Action: Provide aesthetic review, and recommend gift acceptance A motion was made by Committee Member Puentes, seconded by Vice Chair Jones-Carter, that the Art in Public Places Committee recommend to the City Manager or their desinee that Adrian Litman's proposed gift of his sculpture Tame the Fire, be accepted. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 5 - Chair Kiefer, Vice Chair Jones-Carter, Committee Member Baumgartner, Committee Member Puentes and Committee Member Sayers No: 1 - Committee Member Azhderian Absent: 1 - Committee Member Nathanson 5.3 Project Updates Staff will present updates on current projects. Recommended Action: Information only. Item received and filed. 6. COMMITTEE MEMBER REPORTS 6.1 Ad Hoc Taskforce Reports & Discussion • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Access • Community Engagement City of Santa Rosa Meeting Minutes Page 3 of 3 Art in Public Places Committee Meeting Minutes - Final May 2, 2022 • Project Development Item received and filed. 7. DEPARTMENT REPORTS None. 8.
