4. NEW BUSINESS
3.1 CANNABIS-RELATED BUILDING PERMIT PRE-SUBMITTAL
PROGRAM
BACKGROUND: Due to newly emerging technologies, complexities in
processes, and innovations in the cannabis industry, the Building
Division has instituted a program requiring applicants for
cannabis-related operations to meet with technical staff prior to applying
for their building permit. Staff will provide an overview of this program.

3.2 CANNABIS RETAIL APPLICATIONS - UPDATE AND NEXT STEPS
BACKGROUND: Staff will provide an update on current retail
applications and is seeking direction on draft process requirements and
timeframes for accepting new cannabis retail applications.

3.3 CANNABIS RETAIL OVERCONCENTRATION.
BACKGROUND: Section 20-46.080 of the City’s Comprehensive
Cannabis Ordinance prohibits the overconcentration of cannabis retail
uses, defined as having more than one within a 600-foot radius of each

other, as measured from the parcel boundary. Staff is seeking direction
on whether or not the City should seek amendment of this policy.
