EMERGENCY MEETING
1. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
Mayor Schwedhelm called the meeting to order at 10:04 a.m.
Present: 6 - Mayor Tom Schwedhelm, Vice Mayor Chris Rogers, Council Member
Julie Combs, Council Member Victoria Fleming, Council Member
Ernesto Olivares, and Council Member Jack Tibbetts
Absent: 1 - Council Member John Sawyer
2. REPORT ITEMS
2.1 REPORT - RESOLUTION - RATIFICATION OF PROCLAMATION OF
LOCAL EMERGENCY
BACKGROUND: On September 23, 2019, the Director of Emergency
Services issued a Proclamation of Existence of a Local Emergency
relating to existence or threatened existence of conditions of extreme
peril to the safety of persons and property within the City due to electric
utility Pacific Gas and Electric’s (PG&E) notification to the City that
PG&E may stop providing electricity to a significant portion of the City
for an indefinite period due to fire risk.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that Council, by resolution,
ratify that Proclamation.

A motion was made by Vice Mayor Rogers, seconded by Council Member
Olivares, to waive reading of the text and adopt:
RESOLUTION NO. RES-2019-144 ENTITLED: RESOLUTION OF THE
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA RATIFYING THE PROCLAMATION
OF EXISTENCE OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY BY THE CITY MANAGER IN HIS

The motion carried by the following vote:

Absent: 1 - Council Member Sawyer
3. ADJOURNMENT OF MEETING
Mayor Schwedhelm adjourned the meeting at 10:24 a.m.
