DEPARTMENT REPORTS This time is reserved for City staff to provide a briefing on issues of interest. No action will be taken on these matters except to possibly place a particular item on a future agenda for consideration. 5. NEW BUSINESS 5.1 DOWNTOWN PARKING STUDY Parking will provide information on the award from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) that will be used toward a comprehensive curb management study. This study will help guide the long-term plans for parking regarding greenhouse gas (GHG) City of Santa Rosa Regular Meeting Agenda and Summary Report Page 3 of 3 Climate Action Subcommittee - FINAL AUGUST 2, 2023 reductions, electric vehicle (EV) charging, fleet replacement, and management of inventory with the elimination of parking minimums, the surplus property sales, and the approval of numerous multifamily developments. Attachments: Presentation 5.2 OVERVIEW OF LOW CARBON CONCRETE Staff will provide an informational update on low carbon concrete, which is concrete produced with a lower carbon footprint than traditional concrete. This can be achieved through new construction methods, low carbon intensive cementitious material substitutes, utilizing local materials and facilities, and reducing cement content needs per material usage needs.
