CALL TO ORDER & ROLL CALL Chair Weeks called the meeting to order at 6:00pm. Present: 8 - Chair Calum Weeks, Vice Chair Cherie Barnett, Board Member David Chen, Board Member Henry Huang, Board Member Kirstyne Lange, Board Member Steve Rahmn, Board Member Yvonne Sierra, and Board Member Angelina Vasquez Absent: 4 - Board Member Ariana Diaz De Leon, Board Member Amy Holter, Board Member Jorge Inocencio, and Board Member Andrea Rodriguez 2. SCHEDULED ITEMS 6.1 2023 Q3 COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT GRANT APPLICATION SELECTION REPORT : COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT GRANT PROGRAM 2023 Q3 APPLICATIONS FOR FUNDING BACKGROUND: The Community Advisory Board (CAB) reviews and approves the 2023 Community Improvement Grant. Application for Quarter 3 closed on Sept. 29, 2023. The CAB received one application eligible for funding, totaling $2,500 from the Historic Railroad Association for the Historic Railroad Square Holiday Carriage Rides. RECOMMENDATION: The Communications and Intergovernmental Relations Office recommends the CAB discuss and take action for the application for this grant period. Public Comment: None 6.2 ADOPTION OF 2024 CAB MEETING SCHEDULE The Community Advisory Board (CAB) connects city government and residents so the public can have a voice in decisions that impact their lives and build a stronger community. The CAB meets the 4th Wednesday of every month, except when otherwise noticed. Meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. and are held in the City’s Chamber Building, located at 637 1st Street, Santa Rosa. Below is the proposed schedule for 2024: January 24 February 28 March 27 April 24 May 22 June 26 July 24 August 28 September 25 October 23 December 4* *Due to the CAB meetings being close to the holidays in November and December, staff recommends holding one meeting on the 1st Wednesday in December. It is recommended by staff that the CAB, by motion, approve the 2024 meeting schedule as proposed. Lon Peterson, Director CIRO, provided information and answered Member questions. Email public comments will be provided to all CAB members prior to the meeting and uploaded to the agenda prior to the start of the CAB Meeting for public access. 1. CALL TO ORDER & ROLL CALL 2. PUBLIC COMMENTS This is the time when any person may address matters not listed on this agenda, but which are within the subject matter of the jurisdiction. The public may comment on agenda items when the item is called. Each speaker is allowed three minutes. Public comments may also be submitted by 5:00 p.m., the Tuesday before the CAB meeting via e-mail at communityengagement@srcity.org. Email public comments will be provided to all CAB members prior to the meeting. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - NONE 4. CAB ANNOUNCEMENTS & ISSUES OF CONCERN TO CITY RESIDENTS CAB Members may share community news, upcoming community events that may be of interest to the CAB and issues of concern for residents. STAFF UPDATES This time is for City staff to provide a briefing on issues of interest.
