3.3 DESIGN PROJECT WORK ORDER AMENDMENT 3 - LAGUNA
TREATMENT PLANT ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT (UV) DISINFECTION
IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
The purpose of this presentation is to review proposed Project Work
Order Amendment 3 with Carollo Engineers, Inc. of Walnut Creek for
Professional Engineering Services for the Laguna Treatment Plant
Ultraviolet Light (UV) Disinfection Improvements Project. The Laguna
Treatment Plant UV Disinfection Improvements Project will replace the
existing UV system and install a new diversion system. The design has
been the subject of multiple reviews since 2015. In 2017, the design
was put on hold while the City performed a value engineering study to
verify the design approach and to provide the best value project for the
City. In 2019, the design resumed and was revised to reflect the results
of the value engineering study. Since restart of the design, several
unforeseen factors have contributed to the evolution of the final design.
This presentation will elaborate further in detail on the project’s history
and provide a status update relative to the proposed Project Work
Order Amendment recommendation.
