PUBLIC COMMENTS This is the time when any person may address matters not listed on this agenda, but which are within the subject matter of the jurisdiction. The public may comment on agenda items when the item is called. Each speaker is allowed three minutes. 4. COMMITTEE BUSINESS 4.1 STATEMENT OF PURPOSE The role of the Waterways Advisory Committee is to review development projects, both public and private, that are located adjacent to creeks and City of Santa Rosa Regular Meeting Agenda and Summary Report Page 2 of 3 Waterways Advisory Committee - FINAL MARCH 28, 2024 waterways for consistency with the goals, policies and regulations for creekside development identified in the Santa Rosa General Plan, Zoning Code, Design Guidelines and Citywide Creek Master Plan. While the Committee does not take formal action on projects, it does provide advisory comments to the decision-making body. All development projects located adjacent to a creek or waterway are required to be reviewed by the WAC prior to proceeding through the entitlement process. 4.2 COMMITTEE REPORTS 5. SCHEDULED ITEMS 6.1 PUBLIC HEARING - SANTA ROSA ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION PLAN UPDATE BACKGROUND: The Santa Rosa Transportation and Public Works Department is conducting an update to the 2018 Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan, to be renamed the Active Transportation Plan. The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board will be the guiding advisory body for the Active Transportation Plan. It is anticipated that the Plan will be adopted by the City Council in the Spring of 2025. The item is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
