CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING CITY OF SARATOGA SPRINGS, NEW YORK THURSDAY, JUNE 8, 2000 CITY COUNCIL ROOM 6:10 P.M. PRESENT: Thomas Curley, Commissioner, Public Safety Kenneth Klotz, Mayor Michael Lenz, Commissioner, Finance Thomas McTygue, Commissioner, Public Works Bernard Mirling, Commissioner, Accounts STAFF PRESENT: Christine Gillmett-Brown, Deputy Commissioner, Finance Carol Kennedy, Deputy Commissioner, Accounts Bob King, Deputy Commissioner, Public Safety William McTygue, Deputy Commissioner, Public Works Jeffrey Wait, City Attorney Agreement between the City and SOS (00-138) Mayor Kenneth Klotz said this special meeting had been scheduled to discuss this one item -- the memorandum of understanding between the City of Saratoga Springs and the Shelters of Saratoga title transfer. He said this memorandum was the result of a meeting between Commissioner Thomas McTygue and the Shelters of Saratoga representatives and facilitated by Tony Izzo, Assistant City Attorney. Mayor Kenneth Klotz moved and Commissioner Bernard Mirling seconded to adopt the memorandum of understanding as presented. Mayor Kenneth Klotz thanked everyone and in particular Commissioner Thomas McTygue for their efforts in developing this memorandum. Mayor Kenneth Klotz then read the memorandum of understanding (Attachment A) into the record. He said this agreement gives the City Council veto power over any expansion which is not appropriate. Council members agreed they were glad to see the concerns resolved in writing. Commissioner Michael Lenz said there was some concern expressed at the last meeting about not having a written agreement, however, he felt this was a productive and positive step in resolving this matter. Ayes all. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Michael Lenz moved and Commissioner Bernard Mirling seconded to adjourn the meeting at 6:15 p.m. Ayes all.
