City of Saratoga Springs City Council Meeting Minutes Monday, June 25, 2007 CITY OF SARATOGA SPRINGS CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP MEETING CITY COUNCIL ROOM MONDAY , JUNE 25, 2007 4:00 P.M. PRESENT: Valerie Keehn, Mayor Commissioner John Franck, Accounts Commissioner Ron Kim, DPS Commissioner Matthew McCabe, Finance Commissioner Thomas McTygue, DPW OTHER PRESENT: Lynn Bachner, Deputy Commissioner, Finance Eileen Finneran, Deputy Mayor Michael Englert, City Attorney CALL TO ORDER Mayor Valerie Keehn called the meeting to order at 4:10 p.m. MAYOR’S DEPARTMENT Nothing at this time FINANCE DEPARTMENT Nothing at this time DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY Rip VanDam – Stipulation of Settlement Mayor Valerie Keehn moved and Commissioner Ron Kim seconded to authorize the Mayor to sign the Stipulation of Settlement between the Design Review Commission, Sheila Parkert, Bethesda Parish Corporation and 353 Broadway, LLC. Commissioner Matthew McCabe clarified that the City would be reimbursed its expenses to date which were approximately $22,500. Commissioner Ron Kim said yes. Commissioner Matthew McCabe asked if the Council was comfortable that the work as listed in the stipulation would be completed. Michael Englert said there is a notarized statement from the firm that will do the work that they will start the work tomorrow and should complete it within 10 to 15 days, barring unforeseen circumstances. Mayor Valerie Keehn also noted that under item #2, the City could take further action. Ayes all. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS Ellsworth Ice Cream Parking Commissioner Thomas McTygue moved and Commissioner Matthew McCabe seconded to add the Ellsworth Ice Cream parking lot matter to the agenda for discussion. Ayes all. Commissioner Thomas McTygue said he had some conversations with the property owners at Ellsworth Ice Cream and there are approximately 40 to 50 parking spaces available at that location that they are willing to let people use who frequent the downtown area. He said this parking is 2 1/2 blocks off of Broadway. He said that if downtown employees use these spaces it would free up spaces for those people who are looking for the two hour parking. Commissioner Matthew McCabe said he was working on the downtown parking matter and he hoped that further conversations would take place. He is proposing a summit with all interested parties. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner John Franck moved and Commissioner Ron Kim seconded to adjourn the meeting at 4:20 p.m. Ayes all.
