CALL TO ORDER Mayor Yepsen called the meeting to order at 2:08 p.m. PUBLIC COMENT Page 2 of 4 City Council Meeting 4/30/14 Mayor Yepsen said the public comment period is limited to a total of 15 minutes and individuals are limited to two minutes each according to the rules approved in February of 2004 by the City Council. Mayor Yepsen opened the public comment period at 2:09 p.m. Bonnie Seller of 73 Fifth Avenue stated usually City Council meetings of this type are on an emergency basis. She noticed this meeting was called for a contract. What was so important that this couldn’t have waited 6 days until the next City Council meeting? Commissioner Mathiesen advised time is of the essence in this case. Mayor Yepsen closed the public comment period at 2:10 p.m. CONSENT AGENDA Nothing at this time. MAYOR’S DEPARTMENT Discussion and Vote: Technical Fix for Salary Increase for the Administrative Director of Recreation (14- 156) Mayor Yepsen advised that at the last City Council meeting she made an error when stating the new base salary of the Administrative Director position for the Recreation Department in the motion. She stated the salary was $59,450 when it should have been $59,089; a $12,500 increase. Mayor Yepsen moved and Commissioner Franck seconded for Council approval of an increase in salary of $12,500 from the current base salary of $46,590 to a new base salary of $59,089 for the Administrative Director of the Recreation Department to be effective March 8, 2014. PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT Discussion and Vote: Authorization for Mayor to Sign Contract with Dente Engineering (14-157) Page 3 of 4 City Council Meeting 4/30/14 Commissioner Mathiesen advised this contract is to allow Dente Engineering to do an environmental and geotechnical investigation and evaluation of the Collamer lot. Commissioner Mathiesen moved and Commissioner Madigan seconded to authorize the mayor to sign an agreement with Dente Engineering in the amount of $6,720. Funding is in line H3146952 / 52000 / 1185. Commissioner Mathiesen stated the City is paying for this study and will add this into the cost of the lot if the sale goes through. If the sale does not go through we still have additional information on this lot for future purchaser. Ayes – All SUPERVISORS Nothing at this time.
