Announcement: June 18, 2019 City Council Meeting REVISED Start Time – 6:00 p.m. No comments. ACCOUNTS DEPARTMENT Announcement: The Community Collects Event Nancy Wagner advised this event will be spearheaded by Jamie Parillo. The event will be held on June th 18 at 7 p.m. as a panel discussion. All participants will discuss the type of information they collect regarding the history of the City. Award of Bid: Chemicals – Sodium Hypochlorite and Orthophosphate to Surpass Chemical Company, Inc. No comments. Award of Bid: Chemicals – Polyaluminum Chloride to Holland Company No comments. Award of Bid: Chemicals – Copper Sulfate to Faesy and Besthoff, LLC No comments. Award of Bid: Chemicals – Hydrofluocilicic Acid and Sodiumsilico Fluoride to Amrex Chemical Co., Inc. No comments. Discussion: Update on Grievance Day May 28, 2019 No comments. FINANCE DEPARTMENT Announcement: Career Jam at the Saratoga Springs city Center on October 22, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. th th Commissioner Madigan advised this is for 8 and 9 grade students. This is the first time it is being hosted in the City. She would like the City to help out as a sponsor by contributing $1,000 to the event. Announcement: Population Health Innovation Summit at the Albany Capital Center on June 12, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Commissioner Madigan advised this is the third summit and co-sponsored by NYSTEC, Innovate 518, the City of Saratoga Springs, and the City of Schenectady. This event showcases promising innovations that leverages smart city technology to improve the lives of all New Yorkers. The summit is free and open to the public. Commissioner Madigan added 2 items to her agenda: Discussion and Vote: Resolution for Non-Union Full Time Personnel; and Discussion: Tax Collection, Foreclosure Process. PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT Discussion and Vote: Authorization for Mayor to Sign Change Order #5 with Aktor Corporation for Additional Asbestos Abatement and Demolition of City Hall Commissioner Scirocco advised this is for work in the Police Department area for asbestos. Discussion and Vote: Approval to Pay Invoice #18-23159-F-A in the Amount of $10,060.00 to Alpine Environmental Services, Inc. for Additional Asbestos Analysis of City Hall Commissioner Scirocco advised he will be moving this item to the Consent Agenda. Discussion and Vote: Approval to Pay Invoice #18-23159G-A in the Amount of $10,653.00 to Alpine Environmental Services for Asbestos Air Sampling in City Hall Commissioner Scirocco advised he will be moving this item to the Consent Agenda. Discussion and Vote: Authorization for Mayor to Sign Agreement with Barton & Loguidice for Continued Engineering Services of the Niagara Mohawk Superfund Site at Red Spring Commissioner Scirocco advised the engineering review will be paid for by National Grid. rd Announcement: Week of June 3 Paving Schedule No comments. Commissioner Scirocco advised he will be adding 5 items to his agenda: 4 are for discussion and vote to authorize the mayor to sign agreements with the Surpass Chemical Company, Inc., Holland Company, Faesy and Besthoff, LLC, and Amrex Chemical Co., for various chemicals; and Discussion and Vote: Authorization for Mayor to sign Change Order with Aktor. Announcement: Union avenue Pedestrian Improvement Project No comments. Presentation: Bikers Against Child Abuse Commissioner Martin advised this item will be moved to the presentation section of the agenda. Year of the Senior Event EXECUTIVE SESSION Mayor Kelly moved and Commissioner Franck seconded to go into executive discussion to discuss labor negotiations at 9:44 a.m. Ayes – All City Council returned at 10:05 a.m. Mayor Kelly advised no decisions were made during executive session.
