CITY OF SARATOGA SPRINGS CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING 474 BROADWAY, CITY COUNCIL ROOM DECEMBER 27th 2023 MINUTES PRESENT: CHAIRPERSON HOLMES COMMISSIONER ZANGRANDO COMMISSIONER LEIDIG ANNOUNCEMENT OF RECORDING OF PROCEEDINNGS The proceedings of this meeting are audio recorded for the benefit of the Commissions Coordinator who acts as Secretary. The meetings will be live streamed and the video archive posted on the city website. CHAIRPERSON HOLMES CALLED THE REGULAR MEETING TO ORDER AT 9:32 am and opened the public comment section. Accounts Office Supervisor Barbara Brindisi appeared before the commission to make a public comment regarding the recent CSEA union upgrades that were approved during the 2024 council budget process, specifically the Public Works Office Supervisor and Public Safety Office Supervisor. The commission thanked Ms. Brindisi for her comment. Public comment closed at 9:37am. ACCOUNTS Deputy Commissioner of Accounts Stacy Connors appeared before the commission to discuss the minor update to the job specification for Director of Risk and Safety. By legislative council action and resolution, the position was transferred back to Accounts Department from the Mayors Department. The proposed update was to reflect the supervisory change. Chairperson Holmes made a motion to approve the proposed revisions to the Director of Risk and Safety job specification. Seconded by Commissioner Leidig. Motion carries unanimously. DPW Deputy Commission O’Neill and DPW Business Manager Michael Veitch appeared before the commission to speak on the proposed revisions to the following job specifications, reflecting their recent CSEA position salary upgrades and adding additional duties. Commissioner Leidig inquired about adding or its part time paid 20hrs per week equivalence to the minimum qualifications, to which DPW replied that was fine. Commissioner Leidig made a motion to approve the following job specifications as modified and discussed. Seconded by Commissioner Zangrando. Motion carries unanimously. Seconded by Commissioner Zangrando. Motion carries unanimously.
