Minutes Climate Smart Task Force of Saratoga Springs 4/17/2024 I. CSTF and Guest Members In Attendance: Chair Laura Faulk, Jim Gallagher, Jennifer Ferriss, Brooke VanBuskirk, Jamil Khan, Deirdre Ladd, Jared Snyder City Staff in Attendance: Deputy Mayor Kiernan, DPW Deputy Commissioner Joe O’Neill, Finance Deputy Commissioner Heather Crocker, Beige Berryman, Michael Dutre, Absent: Anita Morzillo, Ben Foster, Dan Barusch, Rayna Caldwell II. Public Comment: No members of the public were present to comment. III. Approval of March Minutes: Chair Faulk announced that March minutes would be submitted and approved at the May meeting. IV. NYSERDA Clean Energy Communities Announcements a. $10,000 NYSERDA CEC Grant Acceptance (Due May 22) Chair Faulk reminded the City that paperwork is due to NYSERDA by 5/22 if the City wants to claim the $10k grant. b. EV Campaign Underway (5 participants = $5k grant, 15 = $7.5k) Chair Faulk reported that the next event is the Auto Museum Spring Auto Show, May 11, 9am-2pm. Sustainable Saratoga volunteers will staff a table. c. Free NYSERDA Building Audit Chair Faulk announced that Tara Donadio completed building energy benchmarking for 2022 and 2023 and that Mike Dutre posted the updated file to the City’s benchmarking webpage. This will make the City eligible for one free NYSERDA building audit. d. $50k grant is achievable. Chair Faulk reported that the City is on track to earn enough points to qualify for a $50k CEC grant. V. Climate Action Plan Visioning Activity Beige Berryman led the group in a visioning activity designed to brainstorm Climate Action Plan Goals. Beige compiled the sticky notes generated during the brainstorming exercise into the groupings below. Additional goal refinement will take place at a later date. Next Meeting: May 15, 2024 at 9 am
