City of Saratoga Springs Board of Ethics Minutes Thursday – May 24, 2017 Present: Justin Hogan – Chair, Brendan Chudy, John Ellis, and Marilyn Rivers, with Tony Izzo as Advisor and Trish Bush. Absent: None Public: None Meeting was called to order at 5:35 PM in the City Council Room by Brendan Chudy. Justin Hogan was stuck in traffic and arrived at 6:07 PM Minutes from the April meeting were approved via email previous to this meeting and posted on the City website on April 19, 2017. OLD BUSINESS: Code of Ethics revisions. Tony presented and reviewed the proposed changes. Marilyn Rivers made a motion to accept numbers 1 and 2 as presented. John Ellis second. Approved: All. Proposed change number 3 was read. After discussion and changes, Marilyn Rivers made a motion to accept number 3. John Ellis second. Approved: All. Trish Bush will prepare the draft of the accepted changes for the Board’s review and once approved Tony Izzo will circulate the changes to the City Council. 2017 Disclosure Statements: Marilyn Rivers reviewed all disclosure statements submitted to date. There are still several outstanding. Marilyn Rivers made a motion to send the following letter to those with outstanding Disclosure forms: This letter is to advise you that you must immediately complete and submit your 2017 Disclosure document or, by operation of Law, you will lose your position on the Board. John Ellis second. Approved: All. Trish Bush will send the letter on the Ethics Board stationary as soon as possible. NEW BUSINESS: None. UPDATE #1-2017 INQUIRY: Marilyn Rivers has recused herself from any further discussion regarding this inquiry due to work place conflict. Marilyn left the meeting at 6:37PM. Tony presented his draft letter for review and comment. After discussion Tony will make an amendment to the letter and send to the Board for final approval. Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Brendan Chudy, second: Justin Hogan. Meeting Adjourned at 6:47 PM. Next meeting: Trish will send email requesting the Board’s availability in June.
