City of Saratoga Springs Board of Ethics Minutes Thursday –September 14, 2017 Present: Justin Hogan – Chair, Brendan Chudy, and Marilyn Rivers, with Tony Izzo as Advisor and Trish Bush. Absent: John Ellis Public: None Meeting was called to order at 5:37 PM in the Deputy Mayor’s Office by Justin Hogan. Minutes from the May meeting were approved via email previous to this meeting and posted on the City website. OLD BUSINESS: Code of Ethics revisions. Tony Izzo provided the revisions to the Board. He advised that he has spoken to all Land Use Boards to discuss the revision. Tony received a letter today from the Zoning Board and will provide a copy to the Board of Ethics. Marilyn Rivers asked that the minutes reflect her request “that all correspondence/complaints being sent to the City Council regarding the Board of Ethics, be sent to the Board as well.” The Board of Ethics feels firmly and stands by the previous revisions they have made to the Code of Ethics and the Board has serious concerns about the additions introduced by Commissioner Mathiesen and officially voted and accepted by the full City Council on July 5, 2017. 2017 Disclosure Statements: All 2017 Disclosure statements have been received and reviewed. NEW BUSINESS: Justin Hogan provided the 2016 Annual Report for the Board’s review. All are in agreement that it is ok to post. Trish Bush will provide a copy to the Mayor. Trish Bush has advised the Board that the work in the City Attorney’s Office continues to increase in volume and she can no longer support the Board as secretary. She will send an email to the Mayor to advise her and ask her to find a replacement. Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Brendan Chudy, second: Justin Hogan. Meeting Adjourned at 6:05 PM.
