Public Comment 1. Overview of Recreation Department Budget- John Hirliman gave a brief overview of personnel / rationale for rates 2. Discussion: Part-Time Personnel Rates. Considering an increase of .50-$1.00 (ave .75). *Minimum wage is increasing .50. Estimate ~16,000 hours w/ 100% return rate the impact would be approx. $12K on high end. 3. Discussion: Program and Facility Fees Camp Saradac- would like to keep rates the same for 2025. Will decide once all expenses are calculated for 2025. Fields, DPW bears most of the expense. Might look at charging Travel groups a higher rate than they currently pay. Parking- we budgeted $29K for Downtown fees for 2024, and we have yet to receive any monies from DPW from Paid Parking program. Will consider keeping rates as is, providing we receive the reimbursement. Indoor rates- already budgeted for July 24-June 30 2025. May need to increase going forward depending on front desk expenses. Ice Rink- every other year raise rates. Looking at $3.00 increase across the board on rentals. The greatest expense currently are repairs to the chillers which is on DPW (approx. $40K). Programs- only looking at potential increase of Basketball program due to greatly increased supply expenses. Referees- consider no increase. Sponsorships- looking to increase from $285 to $300. Adding a Winter Volleyball League- will not impact bottom line.
