November 19, 2013 ***VILLAGE BOARD MINUTES*** November 19, 2013 SAUKVILLE MUNICIPAL CENTER 639 E GREEN BAY AVE SAUKVILLE, WISCONSIN Village President Barb Dickmann called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. Village Administrator Dawn Wagner gave the Statement of Public Notice. Members: Barb Dickmann-present, Bob Hamann-present, Dan Sauer-present, David Maglio-present, Mike Krocka-present, Michael Gielow-present, and Joe Caban-present. Others Present: Dawn Wagner, Mary Kay Baumann, Vicki Lee, Roy Wilhelm, and Mark Jaeger. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE CITIZEN COMMENTS AND QUESTIONS None. APPROVE MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 5, 2013 MEETING Hamann/Krocka made a motion to approve the November 5, 2013 minutes as presented. Motion carried. COMMUNICATIONS REPORT FROM THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT Dickmann wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! REPORT FROM THE VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR No comment. ORDINANCES – RESOLUTIONS – PETITIONS RES. #1179 – 2014 General Fund Budget Dickmann read Res. #1179 – 2014 General Fund Budget. Krocka/Gielow made a motion to adopt Res. #1179 – 2014 General Fund Budget as presented. Motion carried. RES. #1180 – 2014 Debt Service Budget Dickmann read Res. #1181 – 2014 Debt Service Budget. Krocka/Gielow made a motion to adopt Res. #1180 – 2014 Debt Service Budget as presented. Motion carried. Res. #1181 – 2014 Compensation Schedule Dickmann read Res. #1181 – 2014 Compensation Schedule. Sauer/Maglio made a motion to approve Res. #1181 – 2014 Compensation Schedule as presented. Motion carried. REPORTS OF VILLAGE BOARD COMMITTEES Utility Committee No report. Public Works Committee No report. November 19, 2013 Public Safety Committee The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, December 12, 2013. Krocka stated that the Ozaukee County Drug Unit will be giving a presentation and encouraged Board members to attend. Krocka stated that the Reserves will be available for the December 8 th Tree Lighting at Veterans Park. Finance Committee Dickmann reported on the meeting of November 19, 2013. Claims for October 2013 were approved in the amount of $303,726.04. The Budget Watch and Investment Report were reviewed. A recommendation was made to the Village Board to accept a donation from “The Talk of the Town, LTD” in the amount of approx. $1,800 to be used towards the construction of a permanent picnic table at Veterans Park with a plaque recognizing the donation. Motion carried. Res. #1179 was reviewed and recommended to the Village Board for approval. Committee went into Closed Executive Session with no action being taken. The 2014 Compensation scheduled was reviewed and recommended to the Village Board for approval. The Village Administrator – Contract for Services was reviewed and recommended to the Village Board for approval. Caban/Maglio made a motion to approve the Village Administrator – Contract for Services for 1 year as presented. Motion carried. Other Matters: The Chamber will be holding their annual breakfast at Saukville Elementary on Wednesday, December 4th at 7:00 a.m. If you are interested in attending, please contact Mary Kay. REPORTS OF SPECIAL COMMITTEES Plan Commission Dickmann reported on the meeting of November 7, 2013. A Public Hearing was held regarding a conditional use permit for a fuel tank at Charter Steel. That permit was approved. A request for modification to the entrance at Living Hope Church was reviewed and approved. A signage change request for Firehouse Restaurant was reviewed and approved. Community Development Authority/Industrial Review Committee No report. November 19, 2013 Library Board Caban reported on the meeting of November 12, 2013. Caban stated that replacement public-access computers have been ordered. November is Food for Fines month at the Library. Caban reported that 85 children attended the Halloween Party. The Library is getting a good turn-out for their new Recipe Club. Mid-Moraine Municipal Association No report. OPERATOR’S LICENSE APPROVALS Maglio/Sauer made a motion to approve Operator’s License Applications for Magnusson, Jr. for Why Be Dry. Motion carried. LIQUOR LICENSE APPROVALS None.
