In response Jack McDonald Engineering was hired to perform an engineering study, recommend a solution and create a public bid package. The Engineering Department solicited and received bids for "Mynderse Street Slope Stabilization". A bid was received on October 15, 2014 from to Provincial Contractor Services, of Castleton, NY in the Amount of $54,892.00; Funds for this work are to be charged to code that is to be determined. Bus Operators from Rochester, Syracuse, ltbaca and Kingston will compete for the cbarnpionship NUS Rctadeo title on a rigid, scored course, consisting of several different driving challenges. Volunteer Judges frorn across the state will judge drivers by assessing contestant driving skills, knowledge of safety rules and time perfomance. Finalists in the NUS Roadeo have the opportunity to compete in the International Roadeo held annually in the spring. WHEW: The Roadeo event will be located at Crossgates Ma11 in the auxiliary overflow puking lot on the south side of the mall (Western Avenue side) across from the perimeter road frorn the mid mall bus stop. (September 22,2014) The Capital District Transportation Company (CDTA) is proud to announce that Schenectady Bus Operator Robert Rzeszuto placed first in the 20 14 New York State Bus Roadeo Competition held on Saturday at Crossgates Mall. Rzeszuto, who has 28 years of driving expellence with CDTA, beat out 12 other drivers from transit propedies across New York State. Mr. Rzeszuto won CDTA's Bus Roadeo competition held back in June. He won the local event in 2007, while placirlg zndin both the 2001 and the 201 1 Roadeo along with a 3'" place finish back in 2003. The remaining top finishers were: Douglass Rowles (2ndplace) ti-om Ulster County Area Transit (UCAT), CDTA operator Ken Strait (3rdplace) out of Schenectady with 27 years of service and CDTA operator Corey Bixby (4th place) out of Schenectady with eight years of service rounded out the top four finishers.
