The expansion will include the area that was formerly used as Water Street. Water Street was shut down at Washington Avenue a few years back when the Community College Housing opened. Below are before (current) and after (concept) of Water Street and the Park. Construction is planned to occur in the 2016 season, although some clearing may occur this fall. Engineering has reviewed the proposed abandonment. Until now, the answer has been "No, not yet." Now> that answer is changing. The New York State Public Service Commission is laying the groundwork to initiate Community Choice Aggregation CCCA). CCA, which has worked successfully in other states, is a concept that will allow municipalities to arrange energy supplies for all residential customers in their jurisdiction through transparent, open, competitive bidding. MEGA intends to organize a pioneering CCA program under PSC supervision. To help us make plans, and to gain PSC support, we are asking a select number of our participants to provide us with expressions of interest and support for such a program.
