In addition, a pavilion/outdoor classroom will be constructed for miSci educational programs. Evaluation!Analysis: As a requirement under the rules of this program, miSci must obtain the approval and endorsement of the governing body of the municipality in which the project will be located and must commit to the site being forever maintained by Schenectady as a municipal park in this community consistent with the rules promulgated by OPRHP. Total project estimated costs are $983,560 with a $250,000 local match; $125,000 will be provided by Metroplex and $25,000 plus administration to be provided by miSci. The City is proposing the construction of new facilities to allow chlorination with bulk sodium hypochlorite and dechlorination with sodium bisulfite to meet the final total residual chlorine (TRC) listed in the City's State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES). Evaluation!Analysis: Modifications to the disinfection system need to be made by November 30,2017 in order to comply with a new State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) permit, which went into effect 12/1/14. This resolution would authorize the Mayor to apply for funds from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), in an amount not to exceed $2.5 million in state funds with a minimum match of 15% from the City of Schenectady, and enter into and execute a project agreement with the State for such financial assistance to the City of Schenectady.
