Wallin, P.E., City Engineer ~ SUBJECT: Award the Bid and Contract for the "Removal and Installation of the Suicide Resistant Toilets in the Holding Cells of the City of Schenectady Police Department" to Collett Mechanical, Inc. in the amount of $34,832 TO BE PLACED ON COUNCIL AGENDA OF: August 22, 2016 Background Information: The existing combination toilet/sink units in the holding cells at the Police Station are original to the buildings construction and in need of replacement. To optimize the project the City purchased the materials, i.e. combination toilet/sink units, from the vendor directly and bid the installation services with results as shown below. Evaluation/Analysis: The Purchasing Department solicited and received bids on August 10, 2016 with a sole bid of $34,832.00 from Collett Mechanical, Inc. of Latham, NY. The cost and expense of this work is to be charged to Capital Budget Code 16511082-201 Recommendation: Authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with Collett Mechanical, Inc. for the "Removal and Installation of the Suicide Resistant Toilets in the Holding Cells of the City of Schenectady Police Department" in the amount of $34,832.00 to be charged to the Capital Budget Code 16511082-201.
