SUBJECT: CR - Fight for Education and Equity in Schenectady
Background Information:
On October 11th, parents, clergy and community members will walk from
Schenectady to Albany to demand fair and equitable treatment of our public
schools. They will walk straight to the Capitol meeting with parents and
community members from the Capital District as well as those who came from
across New York State who will be walking from NYC to Albany to demand that
New York State finally fulfill their constitutional obligation to our children and
FULLY FUND public education.
October 10, 2016 makes the 10-YEAR anniversary of the Campaign for Fiscal
10,2016
Equity court case that decided our students were owed over $5 billion, today they
are still owed $3.9 billion and we say, "enough is enough!" IT'S OUR TIME.
Please sign on individually as well as collectively in support of the Education
Walk. We all know the importance of standing up for our children and
communities, and our public schools are a huge part of the equation.
