This work required that the City's existing right of way be expanded to encapsulate the public infrastructure. This expansion was never completed and thus the portions of Nott Terrace Heights are within private property owned by the Schenectady Museum Association. Evaluation!Analysis: The City in conjunction with the Schenectady Museum Association (Museum of Innovation and Science) and the Metroplex Development Authority have performed a survey and a lot line adjustment wherein existing tax parcels 39.81-2- 3,39.81-2-2,39.73-2-19.1,39.8 1-2-10 and 39.81-2-11 wholly owned by the Schenectady Museum Association are therein consolidated and adjusted with parcel 39.81-2-1 wholly owned by the City of Schenectady to adjust the City right of way to encompass the modified City infrastructure. The Schenectady Museum Association has agreed to donate those applicable parts of their land in exchange for the City of Schenectady donating any applicable portions of their lands to remediate the issue. Recommendation: Accept the land swap. A new map will be filed by the Surveyors on behalf of the City of Schenectady with the Office of Real Property for Schenectady County. MOC is a community led initiative to re-open Carver Community Center in Schenectady NY. MOC is a grassroots movement started from residents in the community. Members a part of this project have grown up in and/or live in Hamilton Hill. Many members are working in the City of Schenectady to make an impact in people's lives and be a part of the solution to our larger issues of inequity, underrepresentation and disinvestment. History ofMOC In August of 2015 the Carver Community Center went up for auction for $150,000 for the first time since it had closed its doors in 2013. The auction was announced by the U.S. Bankruptcy court to the community with little notice. We--a group of community activist residents of Hamilton Hill, collectively decided that we would not just watch another thing come and go in our neighborhood. The Carver Community Center has such a huge legacy in our neighborhood, it is so big and so meaningful to the people who have lived in the neighborhood. When it was open it had helped to stabilize so many families with resources such as after school programs, childcare, meals, healthcare, and counseling services. We decided to launch The 48 Hour Miracle on the youcaring.com online donation platform to raise funds for the purchase of Carver. At that time we had 48 hours until the first auction for the property at 700 Craig St. in Schenectady, NY. Donations started to pour in from the community but, we were nowhere close to our $200,000 goal. Lucky for us 3 auctions passed us by and we had no bidders on 1 Annual Report January 1, 2016 the community center. We showed up to every auction with a community presence-sending a message that we wanted this property to remain a community center and a resource for families in our neighborhood. With time, our campaign name changed to The Miracle on Craig Street. We feel that this grassroots initiative to save our community center and change our story will truly be a miracle. We have come to believe in this miracle more and more from the support we gain from our neighbors and beyond. The property at 700 Craig St. was last held for auction on November 4th 2015. It has been approved to be abandoned by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. The property is currently in municipal foreclosure. MOC is anticipating that the city of Schenectady will gain site control of the building as it comes out of foreclosure. It is planned that the city will stand with Miracle on Craig St. and support our efforts in obtaining the property. To date accomplishments MOC has secured office space at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church on 1068 Park Ave. Mt. Olivet and Pastor Sanders have been very supportive of Miracle on Craig Street from the beginning of our endeavors, providing financial support, networking, and in-kind resources. MOC has collected 20 letters of support from organizations and community leaders in Schenectady who support Miracle on Craig Street's mission to re-open and revitalize Carver Community Center. MOC has also collected petitions with 500+ signatures from community residents who want to see the doors back open to Carver Community Center in their neighborhood. MOC has raised over $36,000 to date through grassroots fundraising. We have 250+ donors who have donated to Miracle on Craig Street through our online platform and our local fundraisers in the city. 2 Annu al Report January 1, 2016 Miracle on Craig Street is an all-volunteer run organization. To date we have 200+ volunteers that have put their hands on this project and donated their time to helping us achieve our vision of re-opening Carver Community Center. MaC has held a total amount of 12 fundraisers since August of 2015, averaging about 1 fundraiser a month. All volunteers included, our community has spent an estimated 2500 hours on this project in total over the past year. We give a lot! MaC has organized a city council meeting with over 50+ community residents in attendance advocating for support for Miracle on Craig Street to obtain the property at 700 Craig Street and re-open Carver Community Center. MaC has received fiscal sponsorship from Innovative Charitables Incorporated since March of 2016. At this time MaC have started the incorporation process to receive our 501 c3 status with NYCON. MaC is currently working on a planning grant for Carver Community Center's New Construction. MaC is looking to secure funds for design plans for a new building, strategy for a volunteer driven organization, sustainability plan, and a strategic plan for the startup of the organization. We are seeking out foundation grant programs to obtain funding for these plans. MaC sells ethnic costume jewelry and t-shirts retail that has been purchased whole sale. All proceeds go towards our capital campaign for Carver CC. MaC members have been to 10 events in the past year to sell merchandise. Our jewelry and t- shirts are on display at Red Door Beauty Studio LLC. on Nott Street in Schenectady, year round. Moe Goals Our most important goal is to re-open a thriving Community Center in the Hamilton Hill Neighborhood, in Schenectady NY. To do this MaC must secure the building at 700 Craig Street.
