The CAPER also includes information on activities undertaken with such funds and the status of the activities during the fiscal year of 2016. A summary of the 2016 CAPER is available at www.cityofschenectady.com. Evaluation/Analysis: The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires an annual CAPER be submitted 30-days after the close of the Federal Fiscal year. City staff will submit the CAPER to HUD on September 29, 2017. Department of Development will call for a Public Hearing to be held on Monday, September 25th at 7pm in the City Council Chambers, Room 209 to coincide with the regularly scheduled City Council Meeting for the purposes of hearing comments on the 2016 CAPER. 2  CITY OF SCHENECTADY LEGISLATIVE REQUEST FORM COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENT: DATE: August 30, 2017 TO: City Council FROM: Rachael Ward, Deputy Corporation Counsel SUBJECT: Sale of 642 Lansing Street Background Information: Evaluation/Analysis: Recommendation: LEGISLATION WILL BE PREPARED BY_____LAW DEPARTMENT_________ 3  CITY OF SCHENECTADY LEGISLATION REQUEST FORM COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENT: FINANCE DATE: SEPTEMBER 12, 2017 TO: City Council FROM: Anthony Ferrari SUBJECT: 2018 Budget – Call for Public Hearing TO BE PLACED ON COUNCIL AGENDA OF: September 25, 2017 Background Information: Pursuant to Section 36 of the Second Class Cities Law and Article VI of the Charter of the City of Schenectady, an Ordinance to approve and adopt the Proposed 2018 Operating Budget and any relevant Capital Budget needs to be adopted on or before November 1st, 2017. A Public Hearing is a necessary component of the proposal and adoption of the City’s Annual Budget. Evaluation/Analysis: The Mayor’s Proposed 2018 Budget, which will be delivered to City Council on or before October 1, 2017. The 2018 Budget will include Capital Projects and a budget for the following funds: General, Golf, Water and Sewer. It is proposed that the Call for Public Hearing request be addressed at the City Council’s September 18th Committee and September 25rd Council meetings. If the Call for Public Hearing request is approved by the City Council at its September 25th Council Meeting, the Public Hearing would then be scheduled for and held on October 10th. Any comments received at such hearing would be considered at the City Council’s October 16th Committee Meeting and, with Council’s approval, the adoption of the 2018 Annual Budget would then be considered at the City Council’s October 23rd meeting. Recommendation: It is respectfully recommended that this Call for a Public Hearing on the 2018 Proposed Budget be approved and that such hearing be scheduled for October 10, 2017 . 4  CITY OF SCHENECTADY COUNCIL COMMITTEE AGENDA REQUEST FORM COMMITTEE:Health & Recreation DATE: 09/13/17 TO: COUNCILMEMBERS FROM: Councilmember Porterfield SUBJECT: CR Out of Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk Background Information: September 10-16 is Suicide Prevention Week Would like to present a ceremonial resolution in recognition of local Out of Darkness Walk that brings attention to this problem.
