This material is required to maintain the City’s Water Distribution System. This bid contains such items as hydrants, gate valves, taps, couplings, and various pipe sizes as indicated on the attached sheet. Evaluation/Analysis: As per bid specs, the City reserves the right to make awards according to budgetary appropriation, to reject any or all bids and to consider bids only on certain specific items, the acceptance of which it deems to be in the best interest of the City of Schenectady. Therefore the Water Department is awarding the following based on price and manufacture of product: Blair Supply Corp. of Rochester, NY - $98,840.30, Ferguson Waterworks of Clifton Park, NY - $22,588.21, Core & Main LP of Watervliet, NY - $1,652.28 and Ti-Sales, Inc. of Sudbury MA - $312.16. Funds for these purchases will be from the following Water Operating Budget 2018 Codes - FX8322-211 in the amount of $91,998.54, FX8322-451 in the amount of $2,770.46, and FX8322-463 in the amount of $28,623.95. Recommendation: The Mayor to authorize the purchase of the Supplies and Equipment 2018 from Blair Supply Corp. of Rochester, NY - $98,840.30, Ferguson Waterworks of Clifton Park, NY - $22,588.21, Core & Main LP of Watervliet, NY - $1,652.28 and Ti-Sales, Inc. of Sudbury MA - $312.16 for a total of: $123,392.95. Wallin, P.E., City Engineer~ SUBJECT: Authorize the Issuance of Revocable Permit No. 635 to The Edison Apartments for a Sign That Encroaches the City's Right-of-Way at 110 Union Street, Schenectady, New York TO BE PLACED ON COUNCIL AGENDA OF: January 14, 2019 Background Information: The Edison Apartments would like to install a new sign on the corner of the building (Union Street & North Ferry Street) over the City's right-of-way at 110 Union Street, Schenectady, New York. (Please see the attached). Evaluation/Analysis: Attached please find the Revocable Permit Application, and the drawing submitted for the sign over the City's right-of-way at 110 Union Street, Schenectady, New York. DEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING CHRISTOPER WALLIN, P.E., CITY ENGINEER COMMITIEE ASSIGNMENT: DATE: January 7, 2019 TO: City Council FROM: Christopher R. Wallin, P.E., City Engineer ~ SUBJECT: Award the Bid and Contract for the IIPIN 1760.15, Schenectady Bridges: Element Specific Bridge Repair, City of Schenectady, Schenectady County, New York" to Bette & Cring Construction Group in the amount of $477,278.00 TO BE PLACED ON COUNCIL AGENDA OF: January 14, 2019 Background Information: The Capital District Transportation Committee approved the City's application for the "Element Specific Bridge Repair, Altamont Ave over CSX/Amtrak & Pedestrian Bridges over 1- 890." The City then hired MJ Engineering and Land Surveying, Pc. After inspection by MJ Engineering of the two pedestrian bridges over 1-890, it was determined that it would be more economically feasible to remove the two bridges rather than repair or replace them. The Engineering Department held a public meeting on November 9, 2017 about the closure ofthese pedestrian bridges and City Council then passed Resolution No. 2017-338 in support of the removal of these bridges. Evaluation/Analysis: The Engineering Department solicited and received bids for "PIN 1760.15, Schenectady Bridges: Element Specific Bridge Repair, City of Schenectady, Schenectady County, New York". A low, responsible bid was received on December 19,2018 from Bette & Cring Construction Group of Latham, NY in the amount of $477,278.00. Funds for work will be charged to the Capital Budget code that is set up specifically for this project.
