This funding covers rental and administrative costs to address homelessness in the City of Schenectady. Evaluation/Analysis: The City of Schenectady and the Capital District YMCA agree to work together to provide permanent housing in connection with supportive services to homeless people with disabilities. HUD Continuum of Care (CoC) allocates funds $76,981.00 (10-bed) and $153,962 (20-bed) for rental assistance on an annual basis. Recommendation: Adoption of a resolution accepting the Contiuum of Care (CoC) funds from HUD and the City Council to authorize the Mayor or his designee to execute any necessary agreements with the Capital District YMCA to effectuate this resolution. LEGISLATION WILL BE PREPARED BY _______Law Department________  CITY OF SCHENECTADY LEGISLATION REQUEST FORM COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENT: FINANCE DATE: SEPTEMBER 2, 2021 TO: City Council FROM: Anthony Ferrari, Commissioner of Finance SUBJECT: 2022 Budget – Call for Public Hearing TO BE PLACED ON COUNCIL AGENDA OF: September 13, 2020 Background Information: Pursuant to Section 36 of the Second-Class Cities Law and Article VI of the Charter of the City of Schenectady, an Ordinance to approve and adopt the Proposed 2022 Operating Budget and any relevant Capital Budget needs to be adopted on or before November 1st, 2021. A Public Hearing is a necessary component of the proposal and adoption of the City’s Annual Budget. Evaluation/Analysis: The Mayor’s Proposed 2022 Budget, which will be delivered to City Council on or before October 1, 2021. The 2022 Budget will include Capital Projects and a budget for the following funds: General, Golf, Water and Sewer. It is proposed that the Call for Public Hearing request be addressed at the City Council’s September 7th Committee and September 13th Council meetings. If the Call for Public Hearing request is approved by the City Council at its September 13th Council Meeting, the Public Hearing would then be scheduled for and held on October 12th. Any comments received at such hearing would be considered at the City Council’s October 18th Committee Meeting and, with Council’s approval, the adoption of the 2022 Annual Budget would then be considered at the City Council’s October 25rd meeting.
