Public Hearing - Introduction, first reading and consideration of Amendment to Ordinance XXXX and Finding This Item is Not a “Project” Pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15378(b)(5): (Responsible Department: Fire) i. Proposed budget for modifications to the Emergency Operations Center located at the Sebastopol Police Department as well as proposed budget for modifications to the backup Emergency Operations Center located at the Sebastopol Fire Department; ii. iii. Amendments to the Emergency Management Ordinance to be consistent with Emergency Operations Plan; (This will need to be a public hearing) Update on conducting of annual mock training drills/exercises to ensure staff is prepared for emergency situations and maintain certificates of training; and iv. Proposed Appendixes to Approved Plan to include but not limited to: a. Location of Cooling Center(s) b. Location of Buildings with City Generators c. Location of Evacuation Center d. Procedures for opening said buildings (Cooling Centers, Evacuation Center, etc.) e. Location of Ham Operators The Sebastopol Area Senior Center would like to have a preliminary discussion with appropriate staff if motion passes to see if our facility should be considered as an additional location for a cooling (or heating) Center specifically for people aged 60 and over on a very limited basis. We do not have capacity for outside of our typical 8:30am-4:00 p.m. M-F scheduling (staff would have finished there 8 hour shifts already), so perhaps we would just be listed as an open, air-conditioned building with activities and lunch going on as a reminder to the community. (Our lunches are open to people 11:30-1:30 p.m. M-F regardless of age and are $10 members and $12 non-members. We are a private non-profit organization with a rental agreement on this City-owned property. The property is small but this could help some seniors.
