The options 1 on the left can be considered a pair, and the options 2 on the right as another pair. That said, everything in these designs is fully customizable—if you prefer elements from different options, we can mix and match to create the perfect combination for you. I will be using the no border option for the remainder of the presentation, but this is something to consider for the final installation. Here’s some information from their website: “We make custom carved 2.5-D, 3-D and engraved dimensional signs and plaques. These are fabricated from High-Density-Urethane (HDU) wood composite; extremely tough engraved High-density Color-Core Polyethelene (HDPE); wood (cedar, redwood, mahogany, oak, maple, cherry; metal-coated HDU (brass, bronze, copper, silver-nickel, stainless steel, and aluminum; and gold- and silver-leaf gilded HDU. Text, numbers, logos, art and borders can be higher than the background or engraved (carved into it), or both. OUR SIGNS HAVE LONG LIFE & MINIMAL MAINTENANCE. We use the very best materials and manufacturing processes to create signs which have a very long life (20+ years for HDU Signs) and require very little maintenance. We provide a warranty of 2 years, and we expect our HDU and indoor wood signs to last for several decades. We use exclusively Ultra Low VOC Matthews automotive-type 2-part polyurethane acrylic paint and clear-coats , which are UV and graffitti resistance, so there is very little fading when the sign is exposed to direct sunlight, and graffiti can usually be cleaned off with acetone. Matthews paints cost $200/gallon, compared to house paints which cost $30/gallon that most other sign companies use. Matthews MAP will last 20 years or more before repainting. We use 1-Shot Low VOC Oil-Based High Gloss Lettering Enamels for text and artwork. 1Shot is simply the best (and most expensive) lettering enamel in the world. It costs $250/gallon.” Entrance Sign for the City of Coos Bay, Oregon We made two of these very large (12 ft high) entrance signs for the City of Coos Bay, Oregon. They were carved in 3-D relief from 20 lb/ft3 High-Density-Urethane (HDU). The sign was prime coated and painted with Matthews and 1-Shot sign enamels, using an airbrush and artist brush. The entire sign was then coated with 2 coats of long-lasting Matthews polyurethane acrylic clear. This plaque will last over a decade in the marine climate without the paint fading. Complimentary Image Upgrades To create a more cohesive and professional look across your entire branding, I’ve redesigned the images you currently use for email signature and website. I’ve also provided additional layouts, with and without the city slogan, to ensure you have versatile options for future use. This is included as an additional courtesy at no cost to you. I understand that, as a city, there may be times when budgeting for a professional graphic designer isn't feasible, but this rebrand is important to me— not just as the designer, but as a local who sees the real-world impact. I'm always happy to lend a hand free of charge, within reason, to help maintain consistency and support your efforts. While I prefer the color version with 'City of' to maintain consistency, both options are included for your consideration. Current: Updated: Updated w/City of: City of Additional layouts: These additional layouts are designed for situations when the main website image is too rectangular or long, providing a more square, compact option With Slogan: No Slogan: City of City of Final thoughts Thank you for the opportunity to provide input on the design for Shady Cove’s welcome and leaving signs. My preference is for the color Option 2 for both. I believe they stand out and would create a strong visual impact, something that people would be excited to take a photo with. For material, I recommend a carved or 2.5D/3D painted outdoor sign like those from Art Sign Works, as I feel it would provide the right durability and aesthetic for the project.
