Council Minutes March 25, 2025 Via Zoom Pursuant to Chapters 113 and 115 of the Codified Ordinances, and Resolution No. 22-29, enacted March 22, 2022. The Council of the City of Shaker Heights met in a special meeting at 12:00 p.m., Mayor David E. Weiss presiding. Council Members Present: Mrs. Kaus Mr. Malone Mrs. Moore Ms. Anne Williams Ms. Carmella Williams Ms. Bixenstine Council Members Absent: Mr. Claytor * * * * Video of this meeting may be found here through March 25, 2028. * * * * At 12:00 p.m. a Council work session was held. Council discussed the replacement of roofs at the Service Center in order to add solar panels. At 12:36 p.m. Council returned to the special meeting. * * * * Ordinance No. 25-21, by Ms. Bixenstine, Amending Ordinance 24-114, an ordinance appropriating funds from the General Capital Fund 0401 for the acquisition of equipment and the repair, maintenance and improvement of various City facilities, and acquisition of residential property, to appropriate an additional $2,425,000 in order to provide funding for the roof replacement at the City’s Service Center. Chief Administrative Officer Jeri E. Chaikin stated that this item is for an appropriation for the roof replacement at the City’s Service Center in the amount of $2,425,000 in the General Capital Fund. The difference of $600,000 of the earmarked $1,800,000 in the General Capital Fund will most likely be transferred from the General Fund later in the year. This will allow the Mayor to enter into a contract before April 1 when the costs are expected to go up. It was moved by Ms. Bixenstine, and seconded by Mrs. Moore, that the rule requiring ordinances to be read on three different days be suspended and Ordinance No. 25-21 be placed upon its final enactment.  Roll Call: Ayes: Mrs. Kaus, Mr. Malone, Mrs. Moore, Ms. Anne Williams, Ms. Carmella Williams, Ms. Bixenstine Nays: None Motion Carried Moved by Ms. Bixenstine, and seconded by Mrs. Moore, that Ordinance No. 25-21 be enacted as read.
