Richmond Street in Shawano, WI for the reason the proposed new lot would violate Section 10-39 of the Shawano Municipal Code. Appellant is requesting a variance to create a 4,950 sq. ft. lot, where a 20,000 sq. ft. is the minimum requirement. Sawyer Street, Shawano, WI CALL TO ORDER • Chairperson Joyce Hagen called the Board of Appeals meeting to order on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 4:00 PM at Shawano City Hall. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE ROLL CALL • Roll Call showed members present: Joyce Hagen, Randy Young, Jerry Buhrandt, Lana Prickette and Andy Schneider. • Also present: City Administrator Eddie Sheppard, Planning and Zoning Administrator Dave Moesch, Mayor Bruce Milavitz, Larry Roth, Mark Kelliher, and Jim Liesner. APPROVAL OF THE JULY 14, 2022 BOARD OF APPEALS MINUTES • Motion by Young to approve the July 14, 2022 Board of Appeals minutes, seconded by Prickette. Motion carried. PUBLIC HEARING: Appeal of River Valley Church (formerly Assembly of God Church) for the reversal of the decision of the Planning and Zoning Administrator denying permission to create a non-conforming lot at 118 N. Lafayette Street in Shawano, WI for the reason the proposed lot would violate Section 10-28 of the Shawano Municipal Code. Appellant is requesting a variance to allow a smaller lot, where a 7,200 sq. ft. lot is the minimum requirement. Property is located in the Single Family Residential-5 (SR-5) zoning district. • Moesch explained that River Valley was requesting the smaller lot for this property as they would like to sell the home but keep the parking lot the same size. • Kelliher spoke about why River Valley wanted to make the lot smaller. They would like to keep the parking lot size as is. The church may extend the fence by the play yard to give new owner's privacy. CLOSE PUBLIC HEARING • Hearing no further discussion, Chairperson Hagen closed the Public Hearing. ACT ON PUBLIC HEARING FOR RIVER VALLEY CHURCH (formerly Assembly of God Church) FOR THE REVERSAL OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING ADMINISTRATOR DENYING PERMISSION TO CREATE A NON-CONFORMING LOT AT 118 N. LAFAYETTE STREET IN SHAWANO AS STATED ABOVE • Motion by Young to grant the variance for River Valley Church (formerly Assembly of God Church) to create a non- conforming lot at 118 N. Lafayette Street in Shawano, WI, seconded by Prickette. Roll Call Vote "Ayes" Young, Prickette, Hagen, Schneider, and Buhrandt. "Nays" none. Motion carried. ADJOURN • Motion by Buhrandt to adjourn, seconded by Prickette. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned 4:12 PM.
