The attachments for the Tool Cat needed for snow removal are several months out after ordering.  The Tool Cat is a smaller version of a skid steer loader and isn’t offered by other venders. Holder equipment is fairly similar however the cost for a holder is approximately double the cost of a Tool Cat. Financial /Sustainability Considerations:  The Tool Cat with attachments will cost approximately $102,000.00 and would be included in the 2024 CIP Equipment budget. Recommendation:  Approve the ordering of the Tool Cat with attachments. Adopted: Signed: Bruce Milavitz, Mayor Signed: Lesley Nemetz, City Clerk Page 4 of 6 Field Committee Action Item Meeting Date: 8/16/2023 Submitted By: Scott Kroening, Public Works Director Agenda Category: Action Item Title: New Garbage Truck , #142 replacement (for 2024 Budget) Subject: New Garbage Truck, #142 replacement (for 2024 Budget) Background:  The city is scheduled to replace garbage truck #142 in the 2024 Budget. The current garbage truck # 142 is a 2011 Peterbilt chassis, with a Labrie articulated arm, and a 25 CY single body type. The new garbage truck will be an international chassis, with a Labrie articulated arm, and a 30 CY single body type.  The ordering window opened 7/26/23 and will run through 9/1/23. It is imperative to order the truck within this window to ensure a vehicle, most likely receiving it in 2025.  This is the same type of garbage truck that was ordered in 2020 and that truck has worked out very well. Financial /Sustainability Considerations:  The new garbage truck will cost approximately $325,000.00, which would be included in the 2024 CIP Equipment budget. There is approximately $225,000 in the garbage truck replacement fund, and the trade in value of the old truck should be about $20,000.00. Recommendation:  Approve the ordering of the new garbage truck.
