Sawyer Street, Shawano City Hall, Shawano, WI 54166 CALL TO ORDER • The meeting was called to order by Kerber at 7:00 AM. ROLL CALL • Members present: Dave Kerber, Scott Nordin, Jim Meyer, Curt Preston, Rhonda Strebel, Chuck Felts, Todd Doberstein, Mark Bolin and Sandra Steinke • Absent: Charlie Harvey • Others present: Bruce Milavitz, Eddie Sheppard, Peter Thillman, Lesley Nemetz, Dave Moesch and Bruce Gomm REVIEW OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES JANUARY 25, 2024 • Minutes approved: January 25, 2024, Motion by Felts, 2nd by Strebel, MC COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMENTS • Eddie said that contractors have started prepping the land behind NWTC. They are burning brush, which is not allowed in the City. Gretzinger is allowing them to burn on his property which is outside City limits. CLOSED SESSION Kerber requested a motion to go into Closed Session per Wisconsin Statutes Section 19.85(1)(e) deliberating or negotiating the purchasing of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session. Motion to go into closed session by Steinke, 2nd by Strebel, MC. OPEN SESSION Motion by Felts to return to Open Session per Wisconsin Statutes Section 19.85(2) to take action on Closed Session items, 2nd by Doberstein, MC. UPDATE ON CITY ACTIVITY • Sheppard reported that another project is in the works and he requested a meeting on February 29th which will include another Closed Session. Dave will set it up. Eddie reported that the former Muehls building is now open. Demolition of the north building is on hold for now. Developers are evaluating the cost to reconstruct the foundation. Also, the Historical Society may be interested in moving the structure to their site. Bruce Gomm reported that construction of their facility is ahead of schedule. Contractors have completed the concrete in the shop area and are working on exterior finishes and painting in offices. The August 17th completion date may get moved up. UPDATE ON SCEPI ACTIVITY • Peter reported that the Stone Creations paperwork has been finalized and that the company is very busy. He also reported that housing developments in Wittenberg and Bonduel are moving forward. The County is continuing to pursue grant monies for internet access projects.
