Sawyer Street, Shawano City Hall, Shawano, WI 54166 CALL TO ORDER • The meeting was called to order by Kerber at 7:00 AM. ROLL CALL • Members present: Dave Kerber, Scott Nordin, Jim Meyer, Curt Preston, Charlie Harvey, Chuck Felts, Todd Doberstein, and Mark Bolin. • Absent: Rhonda Strebel and Sandra Steinke. • Others present: Bruce Milavitz, Eddie Sheppard, Peter Thillman, Lesley Nemetz, Dave Moesch and Bruce Gomm. REVIEW OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES • Minutes approved from February 15, 2024, Motion by Felts, 2nd by Harvey, motion carried. COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMENTS • None. CLOSED SESSION Go into Closed Session per Wisconsin Statutes Section 19.85 (1)(e) Deliberating or negotiating the purchasing of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session. • Kerber requested a motion to go into Closed Session per Wisconsin Statutes Section 19.85(1)(e) deliberating or negotiating the purchasing of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session. Motion to go into closed session by Milavitz, 2nd by Meyer, motion carried. OPEN SESSION Return to Open Session per Wisconsin Statutes Section 19.85(2) to take action, if necessary, on closed session items. • Motion by Meyer to return to Open Session per Wisconsin Statutes Section 19.85(2) to take action on Closed Session items, 2nd by Harvey, MC. Motion by Felts to move forward with actions taken on Closed Session items, 2nd by Milavitz, motion carried. UPDATE ON CITY ACTIVITY • Sheppard reported that Strive Behavioral Health is looking at a site for a new regional center. Currently they are located in the old Frito Lay building. The new car wash pulled permits for construction. Should be a spring start-up. The former Muehl’s building is now activated. Sheppard reported that Shawano received an APWA award for the Plaza project. • Bruce Gomm reported that construction of their facility is 1½ months ahead of schedule and should be complete by the end of July. Open house is planned for August 16th. • The Parks and Recreation Department sent out a survey regarding needs for the Rec Center. They intend to apply for grants. UPDATE ON SCEPI ACTIVITY • Peter reported that there have been requests for downtown space.
