Special Council Meeting – August 9, 2022 Mayor, David B. Eaton called the special called council meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. with the following council members present: Tom Hardesty, Troy Ethington, Shane Suttor, Mike Zoeller and Frank Page. Absent: Pam Carter. City Employees Present: Carla Wainscott and Ch. Rob Rothenburger City Attorney: Steven Gregory Ordinance 2022-08-09/An Ordinance Annexing Real Property to the City of Shelbyville and Adopting a Zone Change – 2nd Reading, Steven Gregory, City Attorney Steven Gregory, City Attorney, read an ordinance annexing real property to the City of Shelbyville and adopting a zone change. The certain real property is owned by John and Sabina Phillips and located between 1691 and 1693 Zaring Mill Road in Shelby County, Kentucky. The owners of the property have executed written consent that said property be annexed into the City of Shelbyville and be zoned in accordance with Triple S. Planning and Zoning Commission. Councilmember Zoeller moved to approve the ordinance. Seconded by Councilmember Ethington. Upon Roll Call, all voted “aye” and the ordinance passed. Councilmember Hardesty, Councilmember Ethington, Councilmember Suttor, Councilmember Zoeller and Councilmember Page. Absent: Pam Carter. Councilmember Page moved to adjourn at 6:33 p.m. Seconded by Councilmember Zoeller. All voted “aye” and motion carried. Absent: Pam Carter. __________________________ David B. Group spokesperson may speak up to 5 minutes. Adjourn The Next Regular Scheduled Council Meeting will be on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. Public Hearing on Ad Valorem Taxes prior to the regular meeting at 6:15 p.m. *Any invocation that may be offered before the official start of the Council meeting shall be the voluntary offering of a private citizen, to and for the benefit of the Council. The views or beliefs expressed by the invocation speaker have not been previously reviewed or approved by the Council and do not necessarily represent the religious beliefs or views of the Council in part or as a whole. No member of the community is required to attend or participate in the invocation and such decision will have no impact on their right to actively participate in the business of the Council. Copies of the policy governing invocations and setting forth the procedure to have a volunteer deliver an invocation are available upon written request submitted to the Clerk of the City of Shelbyville, Kentucky. 1
