Members Present: Council Member Christine M. Erickson, Council Member Michelle
Erpenbach (arrived at 3:26 p.m.), Council Member Rick Kiley, Council Member Greg Neitzert,
Council Member Rex Rolfing, Council Member Marshall Selberg, Council Member Pat Starr,
Council Member Theresa Stehly
Members Absent: Mayor Mike T. Huether
Staff Present: Denise D. Tucker, MMC, Assistant City Clerk; David Bixler, Budget Analyst;
Jim David, Legislative/Operations Manager; and Tom Greco, City Clerk
CALL TO ORDER
Council Chair Rex Rolfing called the meeting to order at 3 p.m.
Budget Hearings
A. Public Health by Jill Franken, Director of Public Health
Jill Franken, Director of Public Health Director, expressed her gratitude for the
presentation and preparation of the 2017 budget. Franken presented the 2017
budget. Discussion followed.
B. Transit by Mike Cooper, Director of Planning and Building Services; and Sam
Trebilcock, Transportation Planner
Mike Cooper, Director of Planning and Building Services, acknowledged the
hard work that went into the budget presentation. He then turned the presentation
over to Sam Trebilcock, Transportation Planner.
Trebilcock presented the 2017 budget. Discussion followed.
C. Planning & Building Services by Mike Cooper, Director of Planning and
Building Services
Cooper thanked the Finance team for putting the budget presentation together.
He then led the 2017 budget presentation. Discussion followed.
D. Public Works by Mark Cotter, Director of Public Works
Mark Cotter, Direct of Public Works, presented the 2017 budget for all of his
departments, which include: Engineering, Street Maintenance, Snow Removal,
Storm Drainage, Electric Light, Sanitary Landfill, Water, Water Reclamation,
and Fleet. Discussion followed.
Adjournment
Council Chair Rex Rolfing said there will be a working session at 3 p.m. on Thursday, August
25th. He encouraged the Council to work with Jim David and David Bixler regarding any
issues and potential budget amendments. Rolfing adjourned the meeting at 5:42 p.m.
