AMENDING THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY BY AMENDING
CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE II, OF CITY COUNCIL ORGANIZATION AND
PROCEDURE.

A motion was made by Council Member Kenny Anderson Jr. and seconded by Council
Member Sue Aguilar to adopt said Ordinance for Item 7.
A motion was made by Council Member Vernon Brown and seconded by Council
Member Dean Karsky to amend by striking out the following words in Section 2-23(h):
The words “or pass” at the end of the third sentence; and the entire last sentence which
reads “A city council member who responds “pass” shall be given an opportunity at the
end of the roll call to change his or her vote to “yes”, or “no”.

Member James Entenman to amend by changing the language in the second sentence of
Section 2-23(b) to read: "All proposed ordinances and resolutions involving substantive
matters of administration shall also be reviewed by the head of the department under
whose jurisdiction the administration of the subject matter of the ordinance, resolution,
or other document would devolve”.

PARK GRANT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF N. BAHNSON AVE.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF AN INDUSTRIAL PARK GRANT FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF N. BAHNSON AVE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sioux Falls desires assistance from the S.D. Department of
Transportation Industrial Park Road Grant Program for the purpose of constructing N. Bahnson
Ave. from E. Benson Rd. to E. 60th St. N.; and
WHEREAS, the City hereby commits to the continued maintenance of the street; and
WHEREAS, the City acknowledges it would be responsible for the engineering costs and the
local match for the project; and
WHEREAS, the City acknowledges its responsibility to secure rights-of-way or easements for
construction;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes the filing of a
grant application, including all understandings and assurances contained therein, for the
Industrial Park Road Grant, and hereby authorizes the Mayor to act in connection with the
application and to provide such additional information as may be required.
