Greg Neitzert spoke regarding various user fees including the proposed pool fee
increases.
Bruce Danielson stated he attended today’s Park Board Meeting and questioned why this
board meeting is not recorded by CityLink and also spoke regarding the proposed pool
fee increases.
Pastor TaJuan Jackson, Friendship Baptist Church, thanked the City for the proclamation
for the Juneteenth Celebration to be held at Sertoma Park on Friday evening and also for
promoting diversity and educating the citizens of Sioux Falls.

RESOLUTION NO. 48-15
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SIOUX FALLS, SD, APPROVING THE
COMMEMORATIVE RENAMING OF A PUBLIC STREET.
WHEREAS, application 2015-05-01 was submitted by Cassidy Jennings, to the City of Sioux
Falls for a commemorative street renaming for a portion of West 27th Street, between Center and
Dakota Avenues, to “Mark Twain Lane”; and
WHEREAS, the existing street name and addresses for this portion of West 27th Street will not
change; and
WHEREAS, two commemorative street name signs will be manufactured at no public expense
and installed on 27th Street and Center and Dakota Avenues intersections; and
WHEREAS, the commemorative renaming to “Mark Twain Lane” honorably recognizes and
keeps the memory of the former Mark Twain School building alive within our community; and
WHEREAS, the commemorative renaming for a portion of West 27th Street, between Center
and Dakota Avenues, to “Mark Twain Lane” was unanimously approved by the City Naming
Committee on May 29, 2015;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF SIOUX FALLS, SD:
That it approves the commemorative renaming of a portion of West 27th Street, between Center
and Dakota Avenues, to “Mark Twain Lane.”

A RESOLUTION DECLARING IT NECESSARY TO LEVY AND LEVYING A FRONTAGE
ASSESSMENT AGAINST THE LOTS, TRACTS, AND PARCELS OF LAND FRONTING
AND ABUTTING UPON 21ST ST. FROM PHILLIPS AVE. TO 7TH AVE. IN THE CITY OF
SIOUX FALLS FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAINTAINING, PLANTING, AND OTHERWISE
IMPROVING AND CARING FOR THE CENTER PARKWAYS AND BOULEVARD
THEREON.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF SIOUX FALLS, SD:
Section 1. It is necessary to levy and there shall be levied a frontage assessment upon each and
every lot, tract, and parcel of land abutting and fronting upon 21st St. from Phillips Ave. to 7th
Ave. in the city of Sioux Falls for the purpose of creating a fund to be used in maintaining,
planting, and otherwise improving and caring for the center parkways and boulevard on 21st St.
from Phillips Ave. to 7th Ave. in the city of Sioux Falls.
Section 2. There shall be an assessment against each lot, tract, and parcel of land abutting and
fronting upon 21st St. from Phillips Ave. to 7th Ave. in the city of Sioux Falls, the sum of
eighty-five cents ($.85) per front foot for the year 2016.
Section 3. That the City Clerk’s Office shall certify such frontage assessments to the county
auditor of Minnehaha County, SD, and the same shall be collected in and as municipal taxes for
general purposes.

WHEREAS, on May 5, 2015, the City Council of the City of Sioux Falls adopted Resolution
No. 33-15 to include certain contiguous territory within the corporate limits of the city of Sioux
Falls, South Dakota;
WHEREAS, the annexation map boundaries have been approved by the City Council;
WHEREAS, the legal description as set forth in Resolution 33-15 was not accurate;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF SIOUX FALLS, SD:
