A motion was made by Council Member Rex Rolfing and seconded by Council Member Michelle Erpenbach to adopt said Item 36. A motion was made by Council Member Greg Jamison and seconded by Council Member Christine M. Erickson to amend the ordinance by adding, "appointed officer within Fire or Police, or any other appointive officer"; and adding "This provision does not apply to any appointive officer who has been removed from appointive office for any reason that would warrant a demotion, suspension, or discharge of any employee who is subject to this chapter". A friendly amendment was made by Council Member Michelle Erpenbach and seconded by Council Member Rex Rolfing to split the amendment into two amendments; and to vote on "appointed officer within Fire or Police, or any other appointive officer". This provision does not apply to any appointive officer who has been removed from appointive office for any reason that would warrant a demotion, suspension, or discharge of any employee who is subject to this chapter."
