PUBLIC INPUT
Bob Kolbe spoke about parking on Phillips Ave. and recommended that restrictions be
placed on the size of vehicles.
James Reed spoke about the responsiveness of the Police Department.
Heather Pastor spoke about last week's meeting and the making of false allegations.
Scott Johnson spoke in opposition to moving public input to the end of the meeting and
asked why the proposal was urgent.
Scott Ehrisman spoke about City directors' pay, posting of Historic Preservation Board
meeting agendas and the incorrect start time noted on the recent Charter Revision
Commission meeting agenda, both within the context of open meetings statutes.
Debra Hopkins spoke about keeping public input at the beginning of the meeting and
proposed construction in the vicinity of 44th St. and Hawthorne Ave.
Christopher Reistroffer spoke about the width of Phillips Ave., the Sister Cities program
in Sioux Falls, implementing a recycling campaign, and public input.
Tim Stanga spoke about the importance of respect among elected officials and toward
citizens.
Cheryl Rath spoke about the conduct of the recent Board of Historic Preservation
meeting and expressed concerns about meeting the intent of open meetings statutes.
Mary Fleming spoke against moving public input and about respect among councilors.
Diane Olson spoke about government belonging to the people and how moving input to
the end of the meeting would take away their voice.
Nancy Tapken spoke about who benefits from the proposed ordinance to move public
input to the end of the meeting; she recommended that it be kept where it is with a time
limit of three minutes per person and 45 minutes total.
Bruce Danielson spoke about the proposal to move public input to the end of the meeting
and stated that the proposal could have been discussed at a recent working session.
Rich Merkouris spoke about reaching a compromise on public input and enhancing
government transparency and responsiveness. He urged the council and others to not
allow the issue to divide citizens and the council.
Rhanda Heller spoke in favor of improved decorum at meetings and stated her support
for a compromise.

Fuller, Shultz, & Smith and excused herself from the meeting pursuant to Section 30.017
of the Code of Ordinances.

WILL ACT AS A DECISION-MAKER ON AN UPCOMING MATTER INVOLVING A LICENSE OR A PERMIT, PERSONS ARE ENCOURAGED
TO PROVIDE WRITTEN COMMENTS TO THE ENTIRE CITY COUNCIL OR TO PROVIDE ORAL COMMENT AT THE PUBLIC MEETING
WHEN THAT ITEM IS CONSIDERED BY THE ENTIRE CITY COUNCIL. THOSE WHO PROVIDE COMMENTS IN ANY MANNER SHOULD
UNDERSTAND THAT THEIR COMMENTS MAY BECOME PART OF THE OFFICIAL RECORD AND SUBJECT TO REVIEW BY ALL
PARTIES AND THE PUBLIC.
