MINUTES Tuesday, April 1, 2014 Fiscal Committee 5:01 PM Carnegie Town Hall 235 West 10th Street Members Present: Council Member Dean Karsky, Council Member James Entenman, Council Member Greg Jamison, and Council Member Sue Aguilar Members Absent: None. Staff Present: Tamara Jorgensen, CMC, Assistant City Clerk; David Bixler, Budget Analyst; Jim David, Legislative/Operations Manager 1. Call To Order Committee Chair Sue Aguilar called the meeting to order at 5:01 p.m. 2. Approval of Minutes A Meeting held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 A motion was made by Council Member Dean Karsky and seconded by Council Member James Entenman to approve the meeting held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Vote to approve: Roll Call: Yeses, Sue Aguilar, Dean Karsky, James Entenman, Greg Jamison, 4. Noes, 0. Motion Passed. 3. Reports and Updates A Street Construction: Planning and Scheduling by Chad Huwe, City Engineer Chad Huwe, City Engineer, displayed an award received by the City of Sioux Falls from the Associated General Contractors for the state of South Dakota. It was presented at their state convention in January, 2014. The award is titled “2013 Build South Dakota Award - Category III”, (which means it is greater than $2M). It was received for the West 57th Street and South Western Avenue project. Huwe reviewed the following topics via a PowerPoint Presentation: Prioritization, design phase, project scheduling, project completion, project costs, and arterial street improvements. Discussion followed. 4. Open Discussion Council Member Jim Entenman and Council Member Greg Jamison thanked Sue Aguilar for chairing and serving on the City Council and on this committee. 5. Adjournment A motion was made by Council Member Dean Karsky and seconded by Council Member Jim Entenman to adjourn the meeting at 5:30 p.m. Aguilar called for a voice vote on that motion and all members voted yes.
