MINUTES Monday, August 8, 2011 Informational Meeting 4:00 PM at Carnegie Town Hall Sioux Falls City Council 235 West Tenth Street Members Present: Sue Aguilar, Kenny Anderson Jr., Vernon Brown, James Entenman, Michelle Erpenbach, Greg Jamison, Dean Karsky, Rex Rolfing , Mike T. Huether Members Absent: None Staff Present: Debra A. Owen, City Clerk/Chief of Council Operations and Jamie L. Palmer, CMC, Assistant City Clerk 1. Call To Order Council Chair Aguilar called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. 2. City Council Staff Report A. Debra A. Owen, City Clerk/Chief of Council Operations Owen reviewed some potential amendments on this evening's agenda. She gave a brief update from the Districting Commission and reviewed the recommended map B. She stated they will be holding public hearings on September 15, 2011, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and September 17, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Carnegie Town Hall. 3. Audit Committee A. Report from meeting held Tuesday, July 26, 2011 4. City Council Open Discussion Karsky gave special recognition to Matt Carlson, Construction Supervisor with Carl V. Carlson, for the assistance he gave to two residents during road construction near their home. Brown said that he attended his final meeting with the Homeless Advisory Board and said that they discussed whether or not the Salvation Army winter warming house will be open for next winter season. He said the Public Services committee will be reviewing the Housing Trust Fund issue. He said the resolution to appoint the new Homeless Advisory Board members will be voted on next week.  Erpenbach spoke about her recent ride along with the Sioux Falls Police Department. Aguilar said that the next Council Working Session has been scheduled on Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at 4:00 p.m. She said that she will schedule a second session on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at 4:00 p.m., but to let her know right away if there are conflicts with that date. 5. Presentations A. River Greenway Development Phase I & II Update by Don Kearney, Director of Parks & Recreation and Jon Jacobson, Landscape Architect, Confluence B.
