A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE JOINT CITY OF SIOUX FALLS/LINCOLN COUNTY 2040 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN. A motion was made by Council Member Michelle Erpenbach and seconded by Council Member Rick Kiley to adopt said Resolution No. 40-17. Vote: Roll Call: Yeses, Michelle Erpenbach, Rick Kiley, Greg Neitzert, Rex Rolfing, Pat Starr, Theresa Stehly, 6. Noes, 0. Motion Passed. RESOLUTION NO. 40-17 A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE JOINT CITY OF SIOUX FALLS/LINCOLN COUNTY 2040 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN.  WHEREAS, the Joint City of Sioux Falls and Lincoln County Planning Commissions have proposed a plan for the physical development of the joint jurisdictional area within the approved joint planning jurisdictions; WHEREAS, the Joint Lincoln County and Sioux Falls Planning Commission held a public hearing on October 12, 2016, to gain input from the public; WHEREAS, the Joint Sioux Falls City Council and Lincoln County Commission held a public hearing on April 25, 2017, to gain input from the public; WHEREAS, the comprehensive plan shows the Joint City of Sioux Falls and Lincoln County Planning Commission’s recommendations of guiding and accomplishing a coordinated, adjusted, and harmonious development of each joint planning jurisdictional areas, which will, in accordance with existing and future needs, best promote health, safety, morals, order, convenience, prosperity or the general welfare, as well as efficiency and economy in the process of development; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE JOINT CITY OF SIOUX FALLS AND LINCOLN COUNTY GOVERNING BODIES, SD: That the Shape Sioux Falls 2040 Comprehensive Plan is hereby adopted along with the accompanying maps and descriptive matter, for the Joint City of Sioux Falls and Lincoln County planning area, with said plan to supersede the Shape Sioux Falls 2035 Comprehensive Plan. Said plan shall be on file in the office of the City Clerk, the City Planning Office, Lincoln County Planning Office, City website, and is available for public inspection by any interested person. A discussion was held regarding setting up a working group with members from other municipalities and counties to discuss legislative items. A time and date have not yet been determined. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Council Member Greg Neitzert and seconded by Council Member Pat Starr to adjourn at 7:20 p.m. Council Chair Rex Rolfing called for a voice vote.
