SPECIAL REPORTS: Government to Government, Municipal Boards/Commissions/Committees, Municipal Departments, School District, Students and Guests (five minute time limit) Tribal Council Chairman Lawrence Widmark reported on the December 13 meeting and annual meeting. PERSONS TO BE HEARD Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) Chair Roby Littlefield gave an update on the Commission's work, specifically the HPC Plan. IX. CONSENT AGENDA A motion was made by Christianson that the Consent Agenda consisting of items A & B be APPROVED. The motion PASSED by the following vote. Yes: 6- Christianson, Eisenbeisz, Ystad, Pike, Carlson, and Saline Absent: 1- Mosher A 23-157 Approve the minutes of the December 12 Assembly meeting This item was APPROVED ON THE CONSENT AGENDA. B ORD 23-27 Making supplemental appropriations for fiscal year 2024 (Homeland Security Grant - Upgrade Security Doors and Police Radios) This item was APPROVED ON FIRST READING ON THE CONSENT AGENDA. X. BOARD, COMMISSION, COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS None. XI. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: C ORD 23-25 Making supplemental appropriations for fiscal year 2024 (CLIA Pacific Northwest Cruise Symposium) Christianson commented on using money from the Visitor Enhancement Fund. Eisenbeisz reminded 2024 was the inaugural Pacific Northwest Cruise Symposium. The Assembly agreed in the future it could be more beneficial for the Sitka delegation to attend the Pacific Northwest Cruise Symposium instead of the SeaTrade Cruise Global Conference in Florida. A motion was made by Carlson that this Ordinance be APPROVED ON SECOND AND FINAL READING. The motion PASSED by the following vote. Yes: 6- Christianson, Eisenbeisz, Ystad, Pike, Carlson, and Saline Absent: 1- Mosher D ORD 23-26 Making supplemental appropriations for fiscal year 2024 (Greater Sitka Chamber of Commerce Supplemental Funding) Christianson expressed a need for contract changes. Eisenbeisz concurred and suggested a discussion during the upcoming budget process. Pike reminded the Assembly had previously agreed to fund the existing contract. A motion was made by Ystad that this Ordinance be APPROVED ON SECOND AND FINAL READING. The motion PASSED by the following vote. NEW BUSINESS: E 23-156 Approve the Acting Administrator list for 2024: Amy Ainslie, Melissa Haley, Ron Vinson, Sara Peterson, Melissa Henshaw A motion was made by Ystad that this Item be APPROVED. The motion PASSED by the following vote. Yes: 6- Christianson, Eisenbeisz, Ystad, Pike, Carlson, and Saline Absent: 1- Mosher XIII. PERSONS TO BE HEARD: Historic Preservation Commission Chair Roby Littlefield told of the vacancies on the Commission. Breezy Cranford, Sam Pointer, Senolden Norwood, Petra Lechner, and Austin Cranford spoke of issues at the Police Department. XIV. REPORTS a. Mayor, b. Administrator, c. Attorney, d. Liaison Representatives, e. Clerk, f. Other Liaison Representatives - Saline reported on the Historic Preservation Commission. XV. EXECUTIVE SESSION None. XVI. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Christianson to ADJOURN.
