Call to Order and Roll Call. Meeting called to order by Chair Clayton at 5:01 p.m. Commissioners Present Commissioners Not Present Staff Present Jason Clayton, Chair Jodi Stamps Danny McElmurray, Planning Director Jordan Granier, Vice Chair Erica Smith, Planning Secretary Michelle Cramer Laura Scariano 2. Minutes. Motion by Commissioner Cramer to approve minutes of July 9, 2025 as written; Chair Clayton seconded. A vote of 4 YAYS, 0 NAYS, 0 ABSTAIN approved the minutes. 3. Public Hearings a. CA2025-0006: A request for a Certificate of Appropriateness for exterior alterations to include new roofing, soffit and fascia, and exterior color changes at 1907 Second Street. Introduced by Chair Clayton. Mr. Bill Olinde with the Sunshine Center and Mr. Adam Thibodeaux of Shifflette Exteriors were present to discuss and answer questions by the Commission. Chair Clayton made a motion to approve CA2025-0006. Vice Chair Granier seconded. A vote of 4 YAYS, 0 NAYS, 0 ABSTAIN approved CA2025-0006. b. CA2025-0009: A request for a Certificate of Appropriateness for exterior alterations to include an addition of 538 square feet to the home at 554 Maine Avenue. Introduced by Chair Clayton. Mr. Evan Hodges, homeowner, was present to discuss and answer questions by the Commission. Vice Chair Granier made a motion to approved CA2025-0009. Commissioner Scariano seconded. A vote of 4 YAYS, 0 NAYS, 0 ABSTAIN approved CA2025-0009. REQUEST TO ADD ITEM TO PUBLIC HEARING: c. CA2025-0010: A request for a Certificate of Appropriateness for AFTER-THE-FACT alterations to incomplete construction of a canopy for bus parking at 2445 Fourth Street. Introduced by Chair Clayton. Reverend Norman Farve of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, located at 2445 Fourth Street, Slidell, LA and Mr. A.J. Johnson, contractor were present to discuss and answer questions by the Commission. It was stated that more time was needed to confirm the correct materials will be used in the project. Chair Clayton made a motion to continue CA2025- 0010 until a meeting can be held between the project team and the Planning Department. Other Business a. UPDATE – CA25-12: A request for a Certificate of Appropriateness for alterations and site work at 1626 Seventh Street; applicant updated exterior materials for paint, windows, and door. Director McElmurray provided the Commission with an update on this case, showing pictures of the new windows and front door. 5. Informational Items There were none. 6. General and Public Comments.
