3. Updates from Committee Members
Evie – reported on the event calendar. A lot of people have submitted things to her and it is
up to 3 pages for the year. Tabi would like this on Tidbits. Evie said that 2 months at a time
might be best. Tabi also asked if this could be on the website. Evie asked about making a
Google calendar. Danielle said there are lots of different ways this calendar could be
provided. Danielle asked Evie if she was okay with the calendar being printed and placed in
the lobby. Evie said sure.
Arlene – VFW social and raffle for Carry-the-Load on May 5. Sales will be had at the
American Legion with the bartender. She’s working on reaching out to Zack’s Excavation to
hang the flags and reaching out to the daycare centers. Tabi said Corrine and her are
handing out flyers to residents, so they are aware of the event. Event will be at VFW on
Wheatley’s Pond Rd, 7:30a. The bus is wrapped differently each year. Evie asked if there

was fee. Arlene said there isn’t a fee, but a sign up for the walk is required. T-shirts are
available for purchase.
Mike – has been working hard and hopes everyone has a great weekend
Tabi asked Danielle if she had anything. Danielle did not.
4. Discussion on art trailer hashtag
Think about what could be painted on, along with the Angel Wings.
#watchussoar – suggested by a visitor
#smyrnastrong and #smyrnaeagles – used by the school district
Tabi would like something that will catch on quick and the community can get behind.
Asked if anyone wanted to volunteer their info to keep potential names. Arlene
volunteered. Tabi asked Danielle if something could be posted on Facebook. Danielle said
she was thinking the same thing. Arlene asked if this could be a competition. Tabi said it
could but there wasn’t much we could provide. Arlene said she has a cricut machine and can
make a tote bag with the winner’s photo and goodies included. Arlene volunteered to get
businesses together for the goodies.
5. George C. Wright Jr. Park’s new bathroom Grand Opening
Originally would have been March 26th, but Sen. Carper cannot make it and the bathrooms
are not ready. Would like to schedule it once the bathrooms are ready.
6. How can we help
Tabi asked if anyone has any events coming up that we can help with. No one had anything.
Mike said that the Boy Scouts have been housing items in the art trailer for several years
now and would like to add more. The troop he is with is getting a lot of donated items and
need a place to put it. Tabi said the trailer is locked and there is still stuff inside. Since it is
behind the school, it would require having someone supervising since they do not want
people just coming and going. Tabi said she would talk with Public Works Director Jason
McNatt about getting access to it.
One of the problems is that the trailer will eventually be set in a field, not necessarily with
school cameras and in the past the trailer was broken into and items stolen. However, she
will look into another possible resource for the Boy Scouts items. He appreciates it and is
just looking for a place for their items if anyone has any ideas.
7. Events calendar updates
This was spoken about during Evie’s update. Tabi thanked her for taking on this task.
Several local businesses have agreed to have a paper copy; Smyrna Diner, Starbucks, WaWa

8. Other committee business
Tabi discussed about the Parks and Recreation ordinances that Danielle brought up before.
She talked about the flow of approval and who would be doing what. There’s some changes
being made in Public Works. There are several different ordinance
VFW May 18th Spring Yard Sale, $15 per space per vendor. Rain date is May 25th.
Annemarie had questions about the sign at St. Polycarp but it hasn’t been discussed yet.
Tabi said it is about the rezoning of some of the homes to become more compliant. Right
now, a lot of residents require going to the Board of Adjustments. The rezoning will allow
the residents to just get permits. She also said that a friend of hers put up a camera sign and
the vandalism has minimized.
Debbie brought up that Bon Ayre has a yard sale coming up. Evie gave her info to her.
