VILLAGE OF SOLON SPRINGS Regular Meeting of the Village of Solon Springs Board of Trustees Monday, June 20, 2016 at 7:00 pm Meeting location: Solon Springs Community Center 11523 S Business Hwy 53 in Solon Springs, WI 54873 a. 7:00 p.m. Call the regular monthly meeting to order. b. Recital of Pledge of Allegiance c. Roll Call of Board Members d. Approval of Agenda e. Business by Public If you would like to speak before the Village Board, please sign your name on the sign-up sheet prior to the Board meeting. Due to requirements of the Wisconsin Open Meeting Laws, only matters placed on this agenda may be approved by the Board at the meeting. Citizens may address the Board regarding items which require no action. No personal attacks on individuals will be allowed, and all comments by members of the public shall be limited to three (3) minutes in length. People signed up to speak: 1. UW-Extension in Douglas County – James Anderson – discussing educational services offered through the UW-Extension program 2. Family Fun Days – Geraldine Muller & Becky Rummel– Donation request and update on festivities planned for the 4th of July 3. Little Gift House/ Becky Rummel – request for temporary closure of parking lot and portion of Main Street for Fall Equinox Festival on September 17, 2016. 4. Dan Blank – DA candidate introduction and Q&A f. Consent Agenda There will be no separate action on these items unless a Board Member Board utilizing a single vote. All licenses approved are contingent upon meeting Village Code requests, and the Board approves. Communications are on file in the Clerk's Office and may be viewed in their entirety during regular office hours. 1. Approval of minutes for 5/10/2016 regular board meeting and 6/09/16 special meeting. 2. Treasurer's report for May (Profit and Loss, and Reconciliation Detail). 3. Approval of payments for General fund checking and Sewer fund checking; all listed on the Expenditure report dated June 20, 2016. g. Correspondence received since the May 10, 2016 regular meeting to be acknowledged and placed on file: a) Letter from Solon Springs School regarding the Village of Solon Scholarship recipient b) Thank you letter from Alex Zosel for Village scholarship award h. Approval of Zoning permit applications: a) Steve Long for Village Pump – relocate business sign b) Barry Donohoo for Dawghouse Properties – addition to warehouse c) Anthony Burger Jr. – renewal of permit #1942, addition to dwelling, siding, roofing, decking on 2nd floor. Page 1 of 2 i. Licensing: 1. Approval of Operators Licenses issued: Elizabeth Swonger, Jay Thomas, Heidi Thomas, Austin Haskins and Phoenix Thomas for JT’s One Stop. j. Business by the Board Unfinished Business: 1. Village-wide cleanup 2. Truck and equipment purchase 3. Blacktopping 4. Roofs – Old Village Hall & Ball Field New Business: 1. Permission for bench to be installed on Main Street near Old Village Hall by Jo Stewart’s sorority 2. Consider resolution number 2016-6-20-2016 Solon Springs Volunteer Fire Department Chief’s Contract. This contract will be for a one year term subject to an automatic renewal for additional one year terms until either party notifies that Commission Secretary/Treasurer that they wish to not renew.
