Wednesday, March 13th, 2024
Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chairperson, Rosemary Leshinski.
Roll Call: Board members: Rosemary Leshinski Lawerence Verga, Chris Gallagher attended via phone.
Clerk: Natalie Iafolla
Liaison: Mr. Michael Sangiacomo
Current Agenda Approval: Cemetery Clerk requesting Computer issue be added to agenda. Motion to accept by
Rosemary Leshinski, seconded by Lawerence Verga, with all approved.
Approval Minutes from 2/14/2024. Motion to approve by Lawerence Verga, seconded by Rosemary Leshinski, all
approved.
Visitors: Mr. Emil Ruth, Ms. Michelle Henke, Mr. David Leshinski.
Emil Ruth: Mowing schedule; discussion regarding first mow and skip weeks…..weather dependent.
Mr. Ruth has been in contact with Mr. Don Romancik regarding cleaning of Ludwig ditch:
There has been positive discussion between county and townships involved. The clearing of
the ditch would be of benefit to the west end of the village drainage as well as cemetery’s
flooding issues.
Financial reports:
Review of financial accounting with a question-and-answer session was given by Michelle Henke, Village Fiscal
Officer. Reports accepted by the board.
Old Business:
Update on baby Ritz: Information received from village law director and will be filed.
Catch Basin Evaluation: Evaluation of drainage received from Street Commissioner. Cemetery Sexton to schedule
possible jet rodding.
Revision of lot pricing: A motion was made by Rosemary Leshinski to increase lot pricing over a two-year period
and continue with residential /non-residential pricing. See pricing sheet attachments. Motion was seconded by
Larry Verga with all in favor. Ordinance to go before council.
Cemetery Mapping: Larence Verga continues to update the mapping system. The board and clerk will assist with
locating information necessary.
Drainage in Sec. B. and L. Addressed under visitor Mr. Emil Ruth. Possible alternative methods of alleviating
flooding issues were discussed.
Columbarium update: Cemetery Sexton David Leshinski has been in contact with Kevin Hipp from Franklin
Monument. Mr. Hipp is still interested in working with the village and cemetery to install a columbarium. Meetings
will be scheduled to gather more information and update cemetery board members.
New Business:
Clerk Updates: (Added per agenda approval) Issues with cemetery computer. Computer taken to Holland
Computers for repairs. New hard drive installed, history and programs reinstalled. Holland Computers suggested
having daily information downloaded through their company for $17.00 /month. Rosemary Leshinski made a
motion to move forward with this offer and it was seconded by Lawerence Verga, with all in favor. The board was
made aware that there is a laptop available to the cemetery clerk. The board advised the clerk to move forward and
have Holland Computers install cemetery programs on the laptop, for use as a back up and to be possibly used in
the field.
Cemetery Sexton update: Mr. Leshinski gave a list of work that has been done in cemetery by the sexton from
Jan1st – March 11th.
March Clean-Up. Request for gator to be in cemetery for last full week of March. Christmas Decorations and
debris will be removed. Possible first mow will also be done before Easter.
Spring footer list: Clerk asked to begin to put together a footer list.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:46 p.m.
