Wednesday, April 10th, 2024 Meeting called to order at 6:02 p.m. by Chairperson, Rosemary Leshinski. Roll Call: Board members: Rosemary Leshinski Lawerence Verga, Chris Gallagher attended via phone. Clerk: Natalie Iafolla Cemetery Sexton: David Leshinski Liaison: Mr. Michael Sangiacomo Visitors: Emil Ruth Current Agenda Approval: Rosemary Leshinski made a motion to approve and to add Sexton phone to new business and Pioneer Cemetery to old business. Motion seconded by Lawerence Verga, all approved. Approval Minutes from 3/10/2024. Motion to approve by Rosemary Leshinski, seconded by Lawerence Verga, all approved. Visitors: Mr. Emil Ruth Emil Ruth: First mow done. All fall and winter decorations were removed. Cemetery clean and tidy for Easter. Financial reports: Financial reports were e-mailed. Board had questions that were answered by the fiscal officer. 1. Cemetery Perpetual Funds – Where do they come from? 20% of all lot sales, opening/closings/and foundation sales are entered into fund #2032. 2. A special prepaid opening/closing from March was not entered? Fiscal Officer will work with Cemetery Clerk to instruct on procedure. 3. When is the budget due? We will be working on the 2025 budget in May, and presented to council by June. Old Business: Revision of lot pricing: Mr. Sangiacomo reported that the first reading was presented to council on April 8th. Council requested the ordinance be reviewed at the ordinance meeting on April 11th. Cemetery Mapping: Larence Verga continues to update the mapping system. The board and clerk will assist with locating information necessary. Drainage in Sec. B. and L. No new information available currently. Columbarium update: Cemetery Sexton David Leshinski has been in contact with Mr. Kevin Hipp from Franklin Monuments. Mr. Hipp will be attending May meeting to give a presentation and answer any question regarding his columbarium. Council is encouraged to attend. March Clean-up: Fall and Christmas decorations have been removed along with any items that are prohibited. Pioneer Cemetery: The South Amherst Historical Society along with the village is gearing up to finish the restoration project. Plans to remove and restore north end of fencing and to finish restoration of monuments. New Business: Tree Removals from Memorial Garden: Trees on each side of walkway have become overgrown and difficult to trim. Cemetery board is taking bids to have them removed. Clerk Updates: Three Funerals. Preparing footer list. Catching up on filing. Cemetery Sexton update: Mr. Leshinski gave a list of work that has been done in cemetery by the sexton from March 24th to April 3rd . Also noted that the gator was not running properly, losing power and needs to be serviced. It was reported to water operator to be passed on to street commissioner and written on timesheet. Spring Clean-up: Scheduled for May. Spring footer list: 23 footers on list. Plans to have them installed by early May. Sexton Phone: Discussion for need to provide village phone for Cemetery Sexton. Sexton should not being using personnel phone to conduct village business or to record work time. Motion to provide Cemetery Sexton with village phone motioned by Larry Verga and seconded by Rosemary Leshinski.
